Re: So What's Everyone's Winter Projects???

My MAIN winter project is to scrimp and save as much money as I possibly can so I can buy the stuff (electronics, fishing gear, etc.) I need for the boat and my wife won't get mad :( at me for spending HER hard earned money! I was under the impression that WE were in this together, BUT guess I was missinformed  of what my opinion and/or part was. You know I did see somewhere there was a boat named "HER PAYCHECK" ;) might actually work in my case( if I should live so long).

Guess I wasn't supposed to try and spend her paycheck on my boat!

Who knew :p

Some day I will find out the true meaning of what it is to own a boat all by myself. :)

Re: So What's Everyone's Winter Projects???

First I must finish las winters list. Then I have to repair two tops that were
damaged in a wind storm 3 weeks ago. I have to upholster the salon on a wellcraft 3600 and a dinette on a houseboat. I have two bimini wtih enclosuers for spring already. For your boat I recomend making struts insted of straps on the front bow for your bimini top. this allows for easier paterning and less movement after the top is complete. straps strech out and dance around at 40mph. Make sere to raise the top high enough to allow for plenty of vision clearance. If the old top went to the windshield add a front bow it allows fo more height and is easier to pattern than a windshield edege.

Well the honey do is strip the panneling off the walls in the living room and redo them in drywall. The boat is wire up a tempature and oil pressure alarm. I installed the senders and wiring on the motor when I replaced it last year so the rest is easy. In the spring its take it off the trailer and apply new bottom paint (disgustung job). Here's hoping for an early spring:)

I can't do anything to my boat this winter.
They forgot to add a door to the shrink wrap.
So I guess its just me & the bottle of Vodka this winter. :)

On the bright side its only 19 more Fridays until boating season. :D

Was just going to replace the u-joints, you guessed it, frozen hardware everywhere. Turned into a rebuild.

Finish up the bow upholstery, and recarpet the whole thing.

In the mean time I'm still lookin for the perfect hardtop boat :)

OK, as stated in a previous post, one of my projects was to waterproof the compartment where we chuck our keys, mobile phones, etc.

Before:

Hatch shut and hopefully waterproof.

My wife hasn't decided yet.

BAAAA HAAAAA HAAAAA ! btdt.

as soona as i get a new shop the deal is to start production on a new business venture......

but the shop will provide the space to step the hull of my boat......im looking forward to that one.

i think if money permits...ill pull the motor and rebuild it as well......then make the interior and carpet the boat.

then the theme paint......and a wakeboard tower.....then ....done...finally !

I have been working on my 1966 Lone Star since I brought it home from the lake in mid September.

http://dianneb.unlimitedtree.com/Lonestar/Lonestar2.html

Just have the fridge to re-install and a water purification system to put in.

In the spring the hull will get stripped, resealed, and repainted .... oh yes, and a new camper top.

Re: So What's Everyone's Winter Projects???

The good thing about winter is getting this stuff done...got my boat in August, so it needs to be made into 'my' boat. I have a rusty fridge door (fix or replace) getting rid of all the lame 80's tape stripes, clean up the teak, do some re-wiring in the engine room and I'm sure I'll think of lots more...it's only 5 1/2 months til launch...

... an '88 Formula F26PC with nothing really wrong with it. I'll be putting my feel on it and trying to learn how everything works. I would put up a pic. But, right now it just looks like a big blue barn under the tarp.
