Hey TR, I read through your thread, bummer about that 1st "ouchboard", sure glad you stayed with it though. The SS are awesome boats to enjoy life with!!

Thanks for checking in FN. Yes we are enjoying the SS very much.

Just installed the bilge pump and outlet. Like most, I hate drilling holes in the boat. I was reading on HA's forum that he put a loop in his hose, is that necessary? I have the hose running from the outlet up into the gunwale then down to the pump. So the hose is about 6" higher from the outlet before it drops to the pump. (Upside down U shape.) Let me know if I need to post a pic of it.

I'm not sure if it's right, never really thought of it, but I have 2 bilge pumps and both just run straight to their respective outlet. I have to replace my small pump soon. Got it bought, just not installed.

i think as long as your outlet is at all times above water level so there's no chance of siphon starting, you're fine. pity there isn't an "O" in the word Starcraft to hide the hose outlet in........

Weather is about right to get that done. Thanks for checking in.

There was not a "looks good" place to put it. It is what it is. Maybe I could paint the outside of the flange blue to match...Hmmm. I'll leave the hose as is for now. It should be a good 18+" above the water line as it is now.

Wow, spectacular photo of the falls...looks like you got out on the water, too. Good luck with the installation of your new grey bimini top. I posted some pics that show how I patched another spot on the floor of my SS on my thread...check it out...might help you patch yours.

I should also mention this...When we arrived at Lucky Peak Reservoir to put in on Monday, we were held up by a boat loading then "unloading" at the dock. Let me explain. An aluminum jet boat was power loading on his trailer which took some 10 minutes to complete. Once complete, one of the 3 men trying to help hopped up on the trailer fender to get a ride up the ramp as the boat was being pulled out of the water. Well about 30 feet up the ramp the boat, trailer, and hitch exited the receiver on the pickup and barreled back down to the dock. The trailer hit a concrete pylon at the entrance to the dock, kicked the trailer up and landed on the dock. This caused the dock to shift some 3 feet. The dual axle trailer was high centered on the dock. There was a pontoon boat launching on the opposite side of the dock. Thanks the Lord that no one was injured. Please make sure the hitch pin is securely fastened. Apparently they thought just the shaft would do without the locking pin:eek: And no the chains were not fastened either!!! Wish I had a picture. I'll try and get one from the park ranger that arrived to the scene.

I've found my hitch pin awol before, always a good idea to check, and use the saftety chains. I've also seen people unhook by pulling the pins and trying to drive away, then unhooking to ball. Doesn't make much sense to me. I've also seen people unload on the ramp by unhooking the winch line before they back into the water. A kid or something runs behind them, the brake and unload their boat, and it's always some one else's fault. As you say lucky no one was hurt. Looks like you been enjoying this warm weather. I've only been to Shoshone falls once in the 60's, forgot how nice it looks there. Congrats on the launch and good luck this summer.
