How about a thread on the various uses for duct tape ya'll have found over the years or weired things you've used it for. There's got to be a gazillion duct tape stories out there.<br /><br />One use I found recently is using it to back sand paper. It stops it from falling all apart.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

A few friends were sitting down in my basement a few years back, just hav'n a few beers. When the True blonde of the group looks up and asks "Why do you have duct tape on your air ducts?" ........ as we all start laughing she realizes what she just said.

It’s good for catching those darn Japanese beetles. The ones that look like lady bugs and bite me in the middle of the night. A friend also found camouflaged duct tape.<br /><br />I forgot, it can be used to close wounds in emergencies until stitches can be installed. Only 3 fingers to go before I got all of them.

Re: Speaking of duct tape...

One of my friends, a pratical joker who somehow can't take a joke, drove around with a "Honk if your GAY" bumper sticker on the back of his work truck for a week before he noticed.<br /><br />We figured he had finally noticed when he pulled up to shop tires squealing. He blew a gasket. Ranting about his reputation only made us laugh harder. When he started discribing the funny looks and the horn honking we lost it.<br /><br />He grabbed up a razor knife and tried scraping it off but the chrome came away with the sticker.<br />Someone came up with the idea of using duct tape to cover it.<br /><br />To this day it's still there. Well, the adheasive and threaded part is anyway. The silvery outside fell off long ago.

I've use it for a lot of stuff..... emergency bandaids (cotton underneath it of course) , numbers on jerseys, emergency leak stopper (not so good), and all other kinds of repairs. I have silver, black, and camo for hunting gadgets. I love it.my motto:<br />"If you can't fix, Duct it.......If you can't Duct it, then F$#K it!!" :p

It also works as a wart remover, just tape up a wart and in a week or two it will be gone..I would not believe this if I hadn't seen it work.

Re: Speaking of duct tape...

I once knew a guy that used it to tape his wife to the floor  :p . She got real drunk one night and got mad at him for some reason. She kept trying to hit him so he told her that if she didn't quit that he was gonna duct tape her to the floor. Well, she kept on and he did it  . She hasn't done it since and they are still married, I think.

I've seen a few badly damaged kevlar canoes being held afloat by duct tape and prayers. In the Quetico it is actually law to have a "canoe repair kit" or duct tape in your vessel at all times. I never go without mine!

We had an elementary school teacher who duct taped an uncontrollable 4th grader to his desk to keep him in it. Of course, it got her in trouble when the parents and the administration found out about it.
