WOW, you won't believe this!
I just went out to a boat yard with a marine service shop, because I saw online that they had some OMC props that they were "giving away" for 40$ each. As I am battling a prop issue, this was appealling even tho it was an hour ride each way.
I just got two 14 x 12 x 3 part number 382017, new in the box props for $80.
They are ridding their shop of alot of old stringer OMC stock. Eighther they don't really know the value (eBay and such) or they are helluva nice people.
I stayed and BS'd with the owner and a mechanic for an hour or so. The owner came back out with new in packaging ball gear assembly with bearings and shaft and a set of shims, AND JUST HANDED THEM TO ME.
He took my name, number and address and told me he would crate up and mail whatever stuff he has for the electric shift as he goes through his wharehouse. He will even send his OMC factory manuals and what OMC tools he still has.
I almost fudged my shorts!!!
I want to send a couple of bottles of something out there for them, is that appropriate? I have no idea, nor do I care about being PC.
Of course I will send him funds to cover any shipping costs, but I won't be holding my breathe on parts showing up eigther.
