I totally understand and agree with you in your decision. I've worn those shoes and no matter how much cardboard you stuff in them, your feet still get wet when it rains.

You might think about the route I took and go new. Marine loans are becoming pretty easy to get now. The amount you spent on your boat monthly would probably be more than a payment. You can stretch these loans way out and it makes it pretty easy to own new.

I never understood paying for ANY vehicle for 15+ years. Depreciation seems like a huge downside to buying new. (IMHO)

I like stuff that's already broke in...I could never own anything brand new..Too many kids and dogs to ruin it first time out.I got my eyes on a 2005 model.

If you look at it that way, you're right depreciation on a production boat suxs.

I bought a custom heavy gauge aluminum boat on a 84 mo Marine Loan (not RV). My payments are about 400.00 a month and I can use it all year around. My boat has a lifetime warranty and my motor has a 5 year warranty.

If you can't see the benifit in this then you probably shouldn't do it. Personally, at 57 years of age, I'm tired of missing weekend fishing trips because I either need to work on my boat or I can't afford it because I've been working on my boat. In my book, the loss in depreciation is offset by the enjoyment. There's always a price to pay no matter what it is you're doing. That's just life.

Well since nobody wants to purchase my overpriced boat,i've done some more investigation.Found 2 very weak valve springs and 2 were slightly off....New springs are ordered...I'm praying this is it,but i've been in this boat before :)

Soon as new springs are delivered and installed ill post back with results.

Oh boy...What did I get myself into?I'm in a bind here,Had a buyer stop by,Fired the engine up and idled on a hose and he was very interested in the boat.Left a deposit and wants a test ride Sunday afternoon...I never said anything about the 4200 rpm and over pop...Should I tell him about it or ask that he not take my engine over 4200 rpm's?Or should I put off test ride till I get the new valve springs in,which should be here Tuesday.

Postpone the ride. Tell him you found a problem and want to fix it before heading out to the lake. If you fix the popping problem, decide if you want to keep it.
