My plugs show very lean conditions,if I leave it,she wont last long..as much as I would love to just run it,too much involved at this point.I find it someday and post results.I've watched this thread from the beginning and I can only say; you've got the patience of a saint! If it runs well enough at 4200rpm,
why not leave it? (but, then again........)
I thought you found the problem and was just waiting on a part or something?
no i havent..pls explain how that would be conducted....Have you done a vacum test on it.
no i havent..pls explain how that would be conducted....
Same question I have....Its mechanical advance so no vacuum ports to attach to.Where would ya plug in the guage?
how bout the 2bbl rochester? On the holley carb. it can be plug it at the choke vent
I drilled out needle and seat another 1/16 and she ran to wot without a hiccup.
I get all my rebuild kits from a local NAPA.The racing needle and seat was purchased at a local speed shop here in town.THE SIZE ON racing needle and seat is a .135 and stock I believe was .110???Now that's weird. I wonder if the rebuild kits you were using had the hole in the seat too small? Not able to deliver enough fuel at WOT. That is an odd one if that's the case.
Do you know how big you had to drill it out? I have a couple old needle/seat from my Mercruiser 140HP Rochester that I can check against yours if you want.
