Re: War

With strategists like several posters on this board I am sure they are in great demand as consultants by people who are having to make the decisions that most affect this nations future. With our collective intellect it would seem that the people screwing everything up would be happy to listen to us as we explain how things should be done. They will no doubt be surprised that it could be as simple as sitting down and reasoning with these very intelligent terrorists.

Are you serious? :^ or just an agitator? 8) Because if you are serious, there is a mental hospital near you I'm sure that you need to check into.

and this means what PW? Maybe a little more negotiation? Maybe a little whining and pleading to reach their kinder side?

You are big on criticism and short on answers that work when the rubber meets the road.

As unfortunate as it is, when the avowed enemy uses civilians as cover, the civilians, rightfully, are going to have to suffer.

Lest you think my position is unkind and radical, read a bit of history of the last big war. Collectively they had a choice of who controlled them, just as we did back in 1776. If they are not part of the solution then they, unfortunately, must be considered as part of the problem.

You're right< Boomie. I'm short on solutions.

Which is precisely why I would not have gone in in the first place.

And I do think we should get the heck out of Iraq as soon as possible, and concentrate on locating and fighting the terrorists, and not the Iraqi people.

Re: War

Ever think where we would be today in our fight against terrorist and yes Osama, if we had not spent our time effort money and lives of our solders to make Exxon and Haliburton richer? We did the right thing invading Afganistan and the world respected us for our action and was behind us without descent from any who mattered.

Then the administration lead us to Iraq and everything went downhill except Exxon and Haliburton. Anyone who thinks we are safer today, more respected by the other members of this earth or have a strong safe economy needs to step back and take a second look.

Not talking about oh I got lots of money but where is this economy leading us. W said it best when he explained his plan, the next administration will have to deal with it. This administration is leaving the country in one hell of a mess, at least I hope something is left.

Re: War

was a sad day today for quite a bit of folks.
anyone who watched the Presidents speech saw and heard from the Horses mouth that there were and are no WMD's in Iraq.
and NO Iraqi ties to the 9/11 event.
that was straight from the president today 21Aug06
I know a lot of folks will feel betrayed but he said it not me.

Hey you ask for it.

In his news conference, the Decider did make a couple of nods to objective reality. He admitted in plain language that Iraq had nothing to do with the Sept. 11 attacks and possessed no weapons of mass destruction -- in other words, that his rationale for this elective, preemptive war had no substance. And he acknowledged a certain occasional exasperation.

Rotten, Maybe one of the little groups of people want to control oil prices regardless of the cost in young lives, respect in the world, division of the Americans. Perhaps we need to get these people out of power and examine what is best for the people of America not just the few wealthy groups!
