By Rich I assume you mean $$, but if you don't have good health, how rich are you really?

I consider Warren Buffet well off. Wealth, health, guts, brains, and comes across as just a nice guy.

Re: What do you consider as 'Rich'?

I have a friend that is the richest man I know.
He has basic cable tv, no cell phone, a $350 20 year old pickup (needed a motor) he's had for 15 years.
One car family.
A small boat he restored and rebuilt the motor.
Built his own home...mostly by himself (paid for).
He just got cable internet and a computer so his son can be on the same level at school.
His favorite vacation is to motor up the back river and camp.

The best thing of all...he wants for nothing!
He has his family, house, job and his hobbies.
He's not an under-achiever...he's content with what he has!

I consider him rich!

I suppose technically Net Worth should be the yardstick but it seems Annual Income is the new gauge regardless of Net Worth. That said whatever you think.

It is not so much what you make, but what you keep.
When its all said and done at the bell, and all your taxes and bills are paid it would be nice to have at least 22.5% of your gross to go into the bank.

YA, like thats going to happen real soon.

Success cannot be measured in dollars. If you're happy with what you have and support yourself/family, you have what you need and the means to obtain what you want... Along with good health and the loyalty of true friends...To me, that's rich.

Re: What do you consider as 'Rich'?

Rich, is in the right minds measured in happiness. A lot of guys and gals out there with lots of money in the bank aren't happy. Myself, I'm happy, the way things in my life are now. In a state, that has 11% unemployment, I'm working two jobs. I just finished refurbishing the outside of my house with new siding and windows. I'm payin' schitt off. I'm pretty happy. Last but not least, I have a woman who loves me dearly. How much better is it, than that? Just waitin for my house to sell, so things will get better yet. :D

If you have your health and good friends who will be there for you when needed you are rich. Having a few $$ hanging around only adds to this richness.

Wife and I have always said that if we have everything we need and just some of what we want, we're good.

Re: What do you consider as 'Rich'?

In my opinion, success and rich are two different things.

For me, to be rich is to be able to afford everything I need, and MOST of the things I want. There is a difference between needs and wants.

To be successful is to have family and friends that love and respect you. To have good health. To have support when you are at your darkest hour. These are just a few of the measures.

Re: What do you consider as 'Rich'?

In my opinion, being rich has little to do with income, and more to do with quality of life.

If you have enough income for your basic needs, a few extras and a little to give to someone who needs it, you should have the need for anything else.

The richness of life depends on fulfilling yourself with contentment. To me this comes from a loving family, good friends, getting out there in nature, and a happy heart, none of which cost a dime.
