Which Color Scheme Do You Like ???

As you may know, I got this new (to me) Formula 330SS . . .

It is done in the "Palm Beach" color scheme . . . which includes a mix of Pink (aka Magenta), Teal, and Dark Purple. The hull has graphics using those colors and the seats have trim in those colors too.

My boat has the 'pink' as the predominant exterior color. I know that "pink is now in", but I'm not someone who wears pink. . .

So, I was thinking of changing the color scheme on my boat a bit to make one of the other colors the 'predominant' color . . . those being either teal or purple.

I wanted to get some opinions on the possibilities. Sooo, through the magic of modern technology, I created a few photos of what the boat would look like, if I changed the color scheme . . . Essentially, it would involve making one of the 2 background colors the foreground color and keeping all else the same. So, there are a few slight design variation between the alternatives that you may notice.

So here goes . . .

The current color scheme (Pink on top)

Now with Teal on top . . .

And, now with purple on top . . .

So which do you like???

Other thoughts/comments??? thanks for your opinions and ideas. :)

IF it were me and I was going to have it redone. I'd pick something more classic like reds/blacks/blues. The slurpee colors will look dated again pretty quickly.

I agree with oldjeep, but of the options purple definitely looks best to me, possibly because it looks almost blue. I think darker colors would look best.

My 8 year old was looking over my shoulder and he agreed. He also said, "that's super cool, we should get a boat like that"! I agree, nice boat.

+2 on the "dating by color choice" thingy. New boats have all gone back to basic, bold colors on the outside and solid, light colors on the interior. Personally, I like that plan too. If the above is all the choices available, however, I'd go with the purple too.

guess I'm in a different ballpark on this one, of the choices given I'd go with the Teal on top .... that said, I too favor the stronger red/blue colors

Well, of the colors you presented I like the purple. But I, like the others, think oldjeep has it nailed. Old school red/black/blue would look awesome on your boat.

I like the purple. But i think a nice flame job or the stars and stripes would look nice.

I like the purple, even over the red and black idea (too clich? for me) kept clean it'll be fine even if it's a little dated. Purple is rich lookin' but still kinda' sporty.

Okay, so you've got the Miami Vice colors to work with, but so what? That's a gorgeous boat, no matter how it's trimmed. I'd go with the original colors and put it back in showroom condition.

Re: Which Color Scheme Do You Like ???

Hey, thanks everyone who offered your opinions so far. It looks like purple is the popular choice. Of course, the Admiral likes it the way it is - pink !!!.

I'm trying to stay with the original colors so that there is minimal work to do in making the change. Besides, the interior colors match the exterior, and that would be an expensive change (re-upholstering . . . ). The bimini is teal, so that is a consideration as well.

The Teal option would be OK, because the 'top' color would be on the outside of the graphic design. So, I like that design a little better, even though I like the purple color better than the teal.

If I had complete freedom without cost consideration, I'd probably go with red/gray, red/blue or blue/gray.

The purple is 'almost' blue, and I originally thought it 'was' blue until I got a good look at it. So, purple/blue it is. . . . but it will probably stay 'pink' for a while as the color change is pretty low in the priority list of thing to do.

I like the solid dark blue with the red stripe and a white on the vertical surfaces (just below exhaust). The bottom would be a light tan...almost indistinguishable from the white.

I do NOT like the light blue on the bottom of this picture!

Wear the pink, if anyone says anything about it... hit them with your purse.

I've always liked red and white for a sporty/sexy look.

Purple, but understand your reasons to go with the teal. Just not the pink, however, even in pink it is a great looking boat!

But unless he's re-doing the whole interior, those colors (classic red/black/blue) will look dumb.

(I say) Embrace the age and condition and keep it 'stock'. Don't try to change it completely. Although the OP did have very nice subtle options using existing colors that would all match well and still seem 'stock'.

I love older (predominately) white hulls with nice trim accents. I don't care for all the solid colors of newer boats.
