I was going to do just that, but it would be a waste of words, time, and effort. Just deleted the texts and moving on.

Ohh, come on now, give us all his number and all 500 of us can start texting to ask if the boat is available. Hopefully he has to pay for incoming texts!! :D He would owe more than his boat is worth in phone bills;)

Why that no good, non-thinking, chicken pluckin'. no goodnik.................banana head! Seems these things happen on CL way too often. What's so hard about calling when he knows a potential buyer is on the way? I also wonder if he felt $75 was too low and didn't have the guts to say so and counter offer. Sorry it didn't end up on your hitch, 64.

Round Two, if you are up to it.

Been trying to look at this one all week, and finally saw it today. Listed as a 14', actually a 12' Smokercraft.

It had a tree / barn fall on it. Owner says his kids had it out last year with no leaks.
 It had about 8" of water in the bow area.

Bow cap is cracked, bow looks like a broken nose, big dent in the keel / bottom from the trailer roller.

Trailer tires are good the main tube is slightly bent, Bow support is bent but easy fix.

He says his wife won't go lower then $200. It was her Grandfathers boat.

So what do you think, Bent boat, trailer, 4 gal tank, anchor and one oar, $200. Can it be fixed without tearing it up?

Not to be gross, but Grandpa has passed and so has his boat. The keel crush kinda seals it. Free is almost too much for this one, 64.

Re: Would you buy this boat?

Ouch! I would imagine you could lightly pound those dents out, AL normally can be. Perhaps some gulvit afterwards to be on the safe side. Im not sure $200 is much of a deal though, I've seen quite a few 12' rowboats in great shape for $200 without trailers, and under $300 with....

I have bought and sold boats over the years and i would not touch this one for one Reason :

Answered a CL ad for a fishing boat for $200. This is the pic that was sent. Seller says it's 18' no title.

Trailer & scrap would be a wash

I haven't seen many at 300 with trailer, 400 / 500 at a min. is what I'm seeing.

That was round one, walked away. Titles in MI are not a big deal. I'm on to round two see above.

Re: Would you buy this boat?

I was wrong 64, I went back and looked up the boats I was recalling and they were 250 with no trailer, although some did not specify. Depending on the size of the trailer, it by itself could be worth $150 or so.

I offered $100 and if no one else calls to contact me. Letting him know I didn't know if the boat could be saved. Figured I couldn't get hurt if he actually sold it to me.
