    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

I am guessing you are pulling the transom. Looks like it has some water damage from the little I can see in the pic. SHSU

1978 starcraft 16 ft just had her repowered with a 2020 60 hp Mercury 4 stroke. Can't wait to see what she'll do now

Couple questions as I have the same boat but with a 1974/77 70HP Evinrude. What did you have before and speed you were getting? What speed are you getting now? Prop pitch? How is gas consumption? SHSU

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

That is some nice looking flooring. I really like the Nautolex we went with, but if we did more boating/tubing then fishing I might be tempted to try it. Having a softer surface for the admiral/mini admiral to walk on when boating would be nice, but having a hard surface for fishing just...

    1978 16 kingfisher

Its not hard to do, just need an extra hand to handle the bucking bar. That being said, tools usually consist of: Rivet Gun (Not impact hammer) Brazier Head/Modify Brazier head bit Bucking bar 5200 As for size, reference @Watermann 's great sticky...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Steering was the only thing I thought twice about on reusing. The control cables were cheap enough that it didn't make sense to try and reuse. That being said, in the end I went with all new steering and control cables. SHSU

Admiral and I redid all on our 1983/84 SS16. Ours though were related to corrosion. SHSU

    1974 Starcraft SS16 Restortation

On the SS16 the windshield does nothing. I wear sunglasses and have goggles for when we are in rough waters. As for the post, check the size at the top and where you want to cut. I found mine the top was slightly tapered (I couldn't see it before I cut it). So when I tried to put the seat...

    Question on motor size

What kind of speed are you looking for? The extra power will help get you up on plain quickly and then cruise and a descent speed. Are you running WOT or cruising at 3500-4k RPM? SHSU

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

That is a nice transom. Did you replace the entire back end and weld the splashwell in? SHSU

1975 Starcraft SS 16' Freshen Up

So you may actually lose some top speed by dropping the motor. The more motor in the water, the more drag that you have to overcome. Either way it sounds like you should be good with either. SHSU

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Man you are going to have to make sure you lift the motor before you pull out, but should make for a shallower launch/load. SHSU

Most of it would be personal preference. As fuel weighs a lot, its nice to have that further forward to help offset the weight of the motor in the back. More of an issue on shorter boats, but can be impactful on larger ones too. SHSU

Try a plastic furniture plug. ACE should have something that will fit the hole. SHSU

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Question I would ask is which is more of a concern, the corroded rivets or the edge of the rib? I don't have the answer, but would think it through if I wasn't planning on doing a whole rib removal/reinstall. SHSU
