Deep Cycle Battery not good for starting??

I’ve used Wally World Ever-Start batteries with good luck in the past. The issue I have with them is that they frequently change suppliers, not necessarily for the best. Went to change out my pair of grp 27 deep cycles last year after 10 years of service. Had to have them shipped in since they...

    Transducer mounting best option?

I There is no benefit whatsoever to mount a transducer for a simple in-dash sounder on the transom. Mount it in the bilge and be done with it.

    !/2 ton Truck towing limitations

It’s based on tongue weight (#500) not load. Guess they assume a 10% TW which may or may not be applicable. The recommended TW for my #6k aluminum is 7%, ie #470

Might be dipping my toes back into boating

Not saying you cant find a gem out there, but it goes well beyond skin deep. You’re long past the expected lifetime of a number of systems on a boat. Even if you find no rot in the boat, at a minimum every hose on the boat and engine needs to be replaced. Fuel tank is suspect. Thru hulls need...

    Filet Table Engine Cover

Live and cut bait is a staple of our fisheries. Wasn’t until last year that they changed regulations to disallow the use of Bass (large and small) Trout (brook and brown) Pike, Musky and Pickerel

    Filet Table Engine Cover

Pick your poison…..wood and starboard (I have both) have their issues as a filet table. The filet/bait board I use on the boat is a maple cutting board on a gimbal mount for use in a rod holder. Works great, but needs to be “oiled/waxed”on a regular basis to keep the surface from absorbing...

    !/2 ton Truck towing limitations

Guessing the need for a WHD at #5k and above is boiler plate. When weight is applied to a hitch, the rear axle becomes the pivot point in the transfer of weight to the front axle. In effect, the weight on the hitch reduces the load in the front axle, compromising both the steering and braking...

If you see the logo flash the computer is trying to boot but failing. Pull and check all network and power connections from motor to gauge for corrosion and power. Cant rule out the interface module or the gauge going/gone bad

    Replacement gauges for a 2003 Crownline 230BR

You can spend as little or as much as you want. But as with everything, you get what you pay for Gauges sizes for the most part have been standardized. The voltmeter gauge from xyz mfg. is going to be the same size as the OE gauge. Pick a price point and a design and go from there

Recommended DVA meter or DVA adapter for a Fluke digital meter

A number of Fluke units have a “fast” min/max peak function. Others have min/max peak recording functions. Certainly cheaper to go with a analog meter and an adapter, but Fluke does offer the functionality on several of its models...
