    Battery Switch

They are only pulling off "both" batteries when the switch is set to both. Otherwise, the load is carried by battery 1 or battery 2 as noted on the switch

    Battery Switch

What is your goal in adding a second battery? If the goal is a guaranteed "Start", the starting battery should be stand-alone, with nothing but the engine powered from it

    Warning buzzer issues 1995 E90TLEO

If it's like the module used in mine, there is a relay inside to generate the "chirp" at power-up. Purple (12V) goes to + terminal. Tan (signal) goes to the other terminal. Black (Grd) to ground

Are we back online for good or?

The last two intrusions into our system were not hacks, per se. Both were malware intrusions introduced by employees clicking on attachments from unknown origins.

Have dealt with most at one time or another over the years. Not as knowledgeable as one would hope on issues outside the box. Certainly not going to be much help when it comes to replacing their unit with a competitors product. Airmar has a pretty good collection of transducer cable diagrams on...

    Turbo tax

Have used most tax softwares over the years. Pretty much all the same. Typically went with the cheapest I could find at the time. Have been using Turbo tax up until last year since it Intergrates with our Quicken, home finance software. Last year, I was fired. Mrs. Dingbat decided it was...

Drive held pressure but still leaks out , water in

Have seen seals hold static pressure yet fail dynamically. Have seen more than one vacuum assembly pass a pressure, yet fail vacuum test. Thermal expansion…..running a 250 HP motor in a trash can for 45 minutes isn't doing you any favors.

Retiring my most favorite nine-year-old Dell laptop

Pretty antiquated processor. Discontinued November 2023 Would suggest a newer processor to extend the life expectancy of the computer https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/197309/intel-celeron-processor-n4120-4m-cache-up-to-2-60-ghz/specifications.html

    Nmea 2000 and gph display

Quick note here........ There is no such designation as a “NMEA Compatible”. The "NMEA 2000 Compatible” nomenclature is a product of marketing departments. These products may work fine, but there is no guarantee they will interact properly with all other Certified devices on your network. On...

    Nmea 2000 and gph display

The Garmin flow meter requires a 30 micron, inline filter in front of the device. The device is then mounted in a "vertical" section of fuel line to keep air bubbles to a minimum. The back bone (NMEA 2000 starter kit) is a device (power, fuse, and signal cable with terminators) used to connect...

    Nmea 2000 and gph display

The sensor simply generates “counts” in response to flow. To generate the data you’re looking for, you need a NMEA 2000 back bone, your GFS kit, proprietary (Garmin) configuration software to support the sensor, and a display capable of running the software This being the case, you need a...

    Autopilot question.

Never heard of such a thing. I believe what you mean is that you can't just punch in a way point and go. You need to build a course way points or utilize the auto-routing feature of chart plotter if so equipped.

JC Tritoon . Does anyone know why JC doesn't have a Dealership out west ?

Several States out west are not all that tax friendly to businesses based out of State. In our case, logistics cost and "fees" had a significant impact on profitability. Opportunities didn't justify opening an in-State office to Service these customers

1998 evinrude 225 ocean pro, no spark! Help!

Resistance tests are short cuts. Used to quickly eliminate obviously failed components. Never assume….load testing is the only way to determine if a component has actually failed or not. As I noted above, those numbers are not in specification. Not saying the components are bad, just that...

Starting your car in this cold weather.

Had a 79 4x4. Same thing with the clutch Thing would climb trees. Body rotted out. Left a ring of yellow paint around the truck every time you slammed a door. My “new stuff” is a F150 with the heavy tow and payload package. Could probably carry the 79 along with a 1/2 load of wood in the back…lol
