    I had a 14' Sea Nymph which had a hole and I patched it with JB Weld from the outside. It never leaked after the repair during the short time that I owned the boat. Not the best way, but it worked.

    I have similar through-hull pitting on my Chief too. I sealed it up on the inside with JB MarineWeld and will be adding an aluminum patch (which is already made) on the outside. If I ever get back to work on the thing! 🙃😆

    That I don't know. After it cured, I smoothed it out and let it sit for quite awhile because I was working on other stuff. 🤷‍♂️

    I had big gouges on the keel of my Kingfisher and used JB WaterWeld for repair. Worked great.

    My 1985 50HP 4 cylinder doesn't have that external linkage either. Just an alignment tube inside for the splined shift shaft.

    That boat is about the same size as my Kingfisher, which is rated to 50HP. It performs nicely with that size, but I'd love to bump it to a 70HP. However, that's illegal in Florida, so no joy for me. 🤪

    Yeah, delays seem to be inevitable in these restos. I'd planned on 6 months for my KF and it actually took 3 1/2 years. I'm having the same issue with my Chieftain resto right now. Ah well, such is life. 😏
