    What is the brand of the new power pack for 43 dollar!! Check if it is a Chines manufacturer. In my opinion keep away from Chines aftermarket parts. It is crap, buy a OEM, Sierra or CDI part and you will not be disappointed.

    If you can manage to remove the lock nut and the carrier without damage them..... yes it is worth it. Change the o-ring and put some liquid gasket such as Permatex form a gasket aviation no.3 or equal at the o-ring. I use this liquid gasket in many application on outboards.

    Check for spark immediately when it stop. CDI box maybe die when it heats up. Electronic components are sensitive to heat when gets old.

    A dual exhaust LU will fit and work if it is a Force LU. Later in 1995-96 they changed LU to a Mercury style.. 85Hp was built until 1989 and in 1990 it became 90 Hp with larger displacement.
