    Reading the tag: no other numbers that I see. From the number that I do see it seems to be a 69-71 Pull the flywheel and file the points, do the set that's not firing too.

    See how bad it is?? lay it flat on a piece of glass and using a feeler gauge. Most cases it isn't that bad and a new head gasket will work. But take it off and check for damage??

    Just brief contact with a magnet will magnetize the bearings and they inturn will pickup any metal shavings and that will cause them to fail. I thought that was BS but the factory manual warns against it.

    IF??? you have water in the T@T?? you don't open the ram or use a hammer. The motor in the down position is where it should be for filling, NO OTHER WAY!! CAUTION!!!!!!! VERY HIGH PRESSURE IN THE LINES CAUTION!!!! Motor down, undo the fill cap on the reservoir add fluid if thats what you need...
