    Help identifying this 60s boat.

In my state....that would be title jumping which is highly frowned upon. Again in my state, depending on the DMV rep you got, they may/would turn you away to get the documented owner to sign over the boat....that's who's on the title/transferable registration. So....does the person you're...

Do you use non ethanol gas ?

Ethanol free for the boat. I don't use that much during the season so its a non-issue cost wise. E10 for the lawnmower and snowblower. I use a 5 gal gas can, add stabil, and then top the tanks from that. Every season, each starts 1-2 pulls in.

    Hydrofoil/Whale Tail Good or Bad

They were all the rage back in the 80's/90's. Some people still swear by them - usually on smaller/underpowered boats. I've personally never run one...the thought of drilling into the leg just doesn't sit well with me. Your mileage may vary and it may very well work for your particular setup...

    Plane issue

Ayuh...cause at 5mph you're not on plane, you're starting your climb out of the hole. This climb will point your bow up. Lower than that, you're just plowing water as the motor isn't providing enough thrust to get it up. Higher than that and you're probably out of the hole and actually on plane...

Rapid trailer jerk at higher speeds

I'm still shocked we're still on the trailer being the issue as OP has mentioned several times now that the trailer towed with his/her OLD vehicle fine but with the NEW vehicle it suddenly has an issue. U-haul, Budget, Enterprise (for an additional fee) all have full sized pickup trucks with...

1979 Ranger Aztec 1750v restoration and parts

Salvage yard IF you're lucky. IF you have a decent plastics shop nearby, they may be able to make something for you based off what's left.

    Stolen!!!

Honestly, no. Not even OPP in the Great White North. OPP was more interested in whether we had our Canadian fishing license and/or tags or not. But for those hell bent on saying a light isn't tall enough....just lengthen the darn pole and extend the wiring. Easy peasy.

    Boat tool box

I used to carry spare fuses (new boat is all circuit breakers). Also set of screw drivers, socket set, zip ties, and pliers. Beyond that...I have a cell phone to call for further help.

94 chaparral 1930 ss with 4.3 prop help

Usually....adding a blade means dropping 1" pitch but that varies across boats/motors/drives. You might hit right where you want to be with the extra 1" pitch and blade. Only way to know for sure is to give it a whirl.

    Stolen!!!

If its truly a concern, replace the intermediate pole in the "vintage" light with a longer one. Dusting off cobwebs from eons ago....I want to say it was a standard 1/2"-3/4" pipe. Could even send it out to be chromed if needed. Extend the wires to the light and you're done. It's not that...

94 chaparral 1930 ss with 4.3 prop help

Side of prop: 834852A45 18P Hub: J 14.5 x 18P Looks like it's out of stock on iboats. Might find it elsewhere?? So it's an 18P 4 Blade....must of mis read it when I bought the boat. Ohh well. I know the GPS numbers are right as I run tests each year to confirm no dip in performance. Another...

94 chaparral 1930 ss with 4.3 prop help

I can check when I get home to see if there's a part number on the prop.

94 chaparral 1930 ss with 4.3 prop help

To answer your question, it came from the marina this way pre-rigged. I personally like it as it holds turns like there's no tomorrow. It's a 4 blade Aluminum. I'm in middle of my WOT RPM range going off memory - not hitting a rev limiter or anything. Could I gain maybe 1-2 mph if I switched to...

Hi all from new Searay owner

I'm thinking there's supposed to be a 1 or a 2 in front of the 50HP cause....dang that'll be a slow, slow trip to the launch ramp otherwise...

94 chaparral 1930 ss with 4.3 prop help

Might help, might not.... My boat is very similar to yours, albeit newer. 4.3L MPI 180HP with Alpha 1 Gen II drive, 1.62 drive ratio. I swing a 4 blade 19P prop. I top out at 49mph (and change) on GPS. 19.4', 2600lbs+/- dry rigged weight per published specs...which I assume is what you're...

    Stolen!!!

My MFG had a light like that. You unscrew at the base and the pole pulls up to legal height. Tighten it back down at proper height to travel. When you reach the dock, reverse the process to stow the light. I know they still made them a few years back. They may still have NOS parts floating...

    boat seats

I have (2) pedestal seats in my current boat. I always trailer my boat covered. Here's why... When I picked up my FourWinns, I was traveling on a local interstate around 60mph. Carpet was snapped down prior to leaving the marina - delivery day. Half way home, I see in the mirror the carpet...

    Towboggan watermat nosediving

Yeah its the simple stuff sometimes. Luckily I'm not at that point just yet as my boys (10, 8, and soon to be 5) won't ride unless I'm just in gear at idle. Anything beyond that and I'm going too fast. I do see a booster in my future once my boys get over this stage :)
