    Newbie - 1963 Starcraft 15' Restoration

IF it were me, I'd be pulling out the transom, floor and that sacrificial piece of ply between the motor and transom to redo it all. Piece of mind. A drill for the rivets will be handy. As for restoring the rear bench seat....have you checked the big box home improvement stores for some...

    Cannot Get Dust Cap On!!!

Always used a wooden mallet to gently seat them in the opening. Then place a 2x4 across the top of the dust cap and smash the ever living bejeebus out of the 2x4. Usually seats with the added bonus of relieving some stress :)

    Bimini base

https://www.iboats.com/shop/taylor-made-stainless-steel-pull-pins.html Finally fixed itself. This is what should be at the end of the lanyard...or very similar.

Dead battery after sitting on trailer

In a weeks time almost anything could kill the battery - from a cabin/courtesy light being left on, radio powered on, running bilge pump, etc. Could also be just an old/dead battery. There's probably a sticker on the battery with a 4 digit date on it. How old is this battery??

    Bimini base

You're missing the anchor pin that goes into that lanyard. The pin locks the bimini support pole in place to keep it from coming back out unintentionally. I'd give you an iboats link but the main site seems to be having issues. Do a google search and you'll find it. Another name is Bimini Pull Pin.

    Boat Ramp Etiquette

I've launched/retrieved at any number of ramps and the retrieval process is different at each ramp. That's why I try to boat on a week day instead. Lowers my stress level immensely. You still run into the wonderful people who are just starting out, are generally a-holes, or the yakkers that...

2016 Four Wins H190 tow ring

I use a bridle with my 3-person tube and I'd suggest the same for either setup. **I have towed (2) single person tubes from my tow ring on the 200Le I had. But....one rider was a teeny bopper who maybe weighed 100lbs dripping wet, the other was my BIL who is a string bean who mighta weighed in...

    Towboggan watermat nosediving

Sounds to me a combination of issues.....tow point too low, weight too far forward. Might try the booster ball as that 2' off the water is probably at rest correct? How far down is that tow point once you hit 20mph? Bet its lower than water level.

    Nobody fishing?

Nice fish. My middle son is looking forward to hooking into one (hopefully) in a couple weeks. New rod/reel/line/lures to do so :)

Bow rising and taking a long time to come on plane

I agree that motor looks low just based off the water it's pushing around the leg. Is it on an adjustable bracket where you could bump it up some?

    2012 Four Winns Horizon H210

Never existed. Engine/Drive parts are motor/drive specific - either Merc or Volvo if we're talking I/O's. Everything else is off the shelf, assembled by Four Winns. Cup holders, windshield, seats, etc. Go through Iboats if you're looking to upgrade/replace components and use your forum discount.

    In dash GPS speedo?

I'll admit it, you have me confused as 33839 from Faria is a 4" GPS speedo 0-60mph. You sure of the part number??

Rapid trailer jerk at higher speeds

I'd be hooking it up to another vehicle to determine where the problem is before tossing more time/energy/parts in the hopes of stumbling across the solution. U-haul rents trucks with hitches if you don't have a neighbor/buddy/pal/family member with a vehicle with a hitch. And...I just re-read...

    Mariner 200 hp EFI

You probably want to have a mod move this into the engine section where you'll likely get more assistance.

planning first trip to thousand islands

Nope. They got porky on the immigration and not declaring being in Canadian waters - regardless of intent (fishing, transit back to US, anchorage, etc). Lots of news stories at the time about it warning boaters to either properly declare/report to nearest immigration port OR avoid the waters.

Pairing engine size with boat size

What does your capacity plate state for HP/weight? That's going to be the determining factor. Then I'd rig a 2 stroke at max as I've yet to hear anyone utter the words...."Gee, I wish I bought a smaller engine". As for the 4 stroke - your boat wasn't designed to carry the extra weight, it will...

    Winner Boat Hull Restore

If the floor has cracks and the stringers are soft, you have bigger issues lurking. I would head over to the resto section as you're about to become a member of the "Stringer, Transom, and Floor" club. **Sistering a stringer isn't the correct way to fix this issue.

planning first trip to thousand islands

If you want another report, let me know as I'll be back up in the area in a few weeks. Clayton was hosting the Pride of Baltimore II and Theodore the Tug - pretty sure both left for other ports Sun/Mon. IF you postpone till next year, might I suggest over 7/1-7/4? Watch the Canada Day...

    Maxx Haul LED trailer lights

According to what I can find elsewhere... 70460 - waterproof, not submersible. From the install photos I've seen, they're primarily on utility trailers. So....probably best to unplug them per manufacturer recommendation as what's needed on a boat trailer is submersible.
