Lost power on return to ramp screws missing from transfer port caps. 94 force 120

Try ebay for gaskets? The port cove is used for inspection. Take it off and you can see into the rings and piston cavity.

    1987 125 force issues

Starting fluid test: get running, spray starting fluid around the intake side and under the packs/coils. If the spray makes any difference in the way it runs? then it's sucking air somewhere??? The 125 has 4 port covers and they are famous for blowing those gaskets, one backfire can blow the...

    1989 force f5 150hp no fire

One 700CCA battery is more than enough. The dealer I worked for used 450-650CCA for everything they sold. That included 460 Fords and 454 Chevy's. The no spark on any cylinder: Kill switch? Stator? Key switch? This on a new install or previous runner? outboardignitiondotcom has test procedures.

    Which carbs supply which cylinders?

Nope they redesigned the intake and added a middle cylinder. That motor was said to be the best HP. to Weight of any outboard. The ones I worked on were pretty strong.

    1984 Sea King Chrysler

If the motor was hard starting or there's been a lot of work to get it running?? Then the oily water is normal. The excess gas evaporates the oil doesn't and ends up in the water. The gunk draining down is the result of the above mentioned problems. If your just getting this running after a...

    Which carbs supply which cylinders?

The initial setting is 1 1/2 turn out. Then they get adjusted running at idle in the water, in gear. I thought the top carb fed #1 and #2 The middle carb(little one) fed #3 The bottom fed #4/5?????

2004 150 Yam buzzer going off.

2004 Yam 150 carb.150TXRD The motor runs GREAT up to 3800-3900 and then the alarm starts. It's NOT overheating, I used a heat gun and checked the temps on each cylinder. Not getting anywhere's near hot. New water pump impeller. The owner replaced both oil sensors/senders in the tanks. Any...

    1984 Sea King Chrysler

Most carb air screws are started at 1 1/2 turns out then adjusted in the water in gear. The idle is about 750-800 in gear motor warm.

1989 Force 15 is this water output enough?

Like topgun said, deeper in the water. The motor isn't a self priming motor. But once it starts pumping the pump can work in shallower water. Most of the water exits from the snout under the cavitation plate. IF??? your worried??? then change the impeller.

    Needle valve seats availability?

Post a close up pic of the needle. The needle/seat: they come two ways. #1 the seat has a tiny o-ring (might be found at Granger)and a solid needle. #2 the seat is solid brass and the needle has a soft rubber tip. Is that seat removable? It doesn't really look like it. Some are pressed in and...

    89 force 50 lift ring

Cheapo tools= crappy results. The 1/4=20 threads already cut into the flywheel, often times they pull out as soon as you apply pressure. Tapping to the next size makes a big difference. One thing I found was using a torch and apply heat direct to the crankshaft end. Then a 3# hammer on the puller.

    The saga continues

Check the trigger leads, they are VERY THIN and break under the shrink wrap, do the tug test and see if the lead pulls out of the connector??? #3 operates the fuel pump, check the diaphragm?? A "New" pack can be bad right out of the box. A stator can test good and still fail.

85 hp force outboard no spark

85/125 Kill switch's?? They didn't come with a kill switch (KS) on the motor. If it had a KS it usually came on the dash and had a cord and plug. The later years the KS came on the shifter (Mercury) outboardignitiondotcom has some tests for the components they sell. Testing the packs: no set...
