Big twin 40hp shear pin material?

I bought some 1/4" aluminum rod locally that I think has the right strength compared to what was there, and I bought a bunch of 1/4" brass rod online. There is no marine store local anymore, and Napa claims not to be able to get anything anymore either

Big twin 40hp shear pin material?

I sheared the pin on my 1966 Johnson Super Seahorse Deluxe 40hp. Must have been old because it sheared in the test barrel. Is there any 1/4" material I can cut new pins out of that is soft enough to work correctly?

    New Tires For Old Gator

Being they are bias ply, I would get a 6 ply. They will be rated to 90 PSI IIRC, but you won't need to put that in it. 50 PSI is likely enough depending on your trailer/ boat weight

    New Tires For Old Gator

A 5.30x12 can be had in a Carslile USA Trail which is going to be the best tire you can buy. It's still a bias ply but there is a 50/50 shot it's made in the USA... Kenda Loadstar would be my second best. Carlisle Sport Trail will 'work' but they are cheeep You can find 12" rims very easy. My...

Intex Seahawk 3 Motor Mount Reinforcement

Yes, it's that simple. Without it, the motor will pull itself under

Intex Seahawk 3 Motor Mount Reinforcement

That is what I did and it holds a Hangkai 3.5hp 2 stroke outboard at WOT although it's not what you really want to do.. The Hangkai makes about 1.5hp in actuality. Keep in mind, I use a 30# Endura C2 to push a 1966 Starcraft Holiday 14 at up to 5 mph or so. 44lb on a 9'6" Seahawk 3 is a...

    STARCRAFT WINDSHIELD

If it's acrylic, there is a company that can make them called UDP plastics iirc. But otherwise it's not available.. I have a holiday 14 and I have a cracked window. I caulked it and it's good enough

    Cut holes in doghouse?

Well if your exhaust gaskets on the engine block- manifold connection are leaking, then that could be choking the engine with exhaust. It happens on outboards when the base gasket leaks. But if they are bad, you should be able to hear it on an I/O... Don't run it like that if it is, since...

Advice on buying an older Starcraft

50hp is fine for that. It's probably rated for 75hp but that 4 stroke will make it nice... It's a Holiday 16 which was somewhat uncommon but it was available that year. I have a '66 Holiday 14 with a '66 Johnson 40hp and it's no speed demon, but it comes up on plane quick and runs over 25 mph.

Hunting Turkey w/o a license cost over $800

Yup. One of my customers with a 2020 Ram hit a turkey, and the bill was a little over $1,500 for a grill and a headlight.

1953 Chris Craft - need title

trying to find the model for a 1975? 18' open bow

You can look under the splash well, and at the knee braces to see if they are cracked. Pull the end caps, screws and rivits from the splash well/ transom attachments and it will lift out. Not a big deal on an Outboard SC. I have to do mine next year, or rather I'm doing it as PM next year...

trying to find the model for a 1975? 18' open bow

If it's 18', it's one of 2 models. A SS 18, or an Offshore V 18. The hull and deadrise is set for rougher water on an Offshore, but they didn't make them very long. '69-'72 I think, and the SS18 was being made along side of them

    New Tires

Right now in the current state of tires.. Goodyear Endurance are out of production for the moment, stock is zero and suppliers are told they will start running them next quarter... We needed to re stock 235/85R16's today, and we had to get LRF's instead of E's because that is what we could...

    Crack in Hull

That's unfortunate... It means your summer is over with the boat ~ basically and unfortunately Crack is showing brown, which is wood rot, and that means stringers. And that usually includes the deck and transom as well. The crack is the sign of the boat structurally failing

    New Tires

You can go up a load range with zero drawback, as long as you follow the load chart, or just max it out. Depending on who you talk to.The stiffer tire will run colder.
