    New Tires

Right, and most people do not know how to read, or where to find a load chart... If in doubt max it out. If you know your weight and have a load chart for that tire, then you can figure it out safely, but otherwise, running max pressure is going to run colder, at least to get it down the road...

    tire pressure

Most stick gauges are about as accurate as a good guess. Use a good professional quality digital gauge like an Accutire. They are accurate down to 2% for $12 or so

    3.5 hard drive

USB can power a 2.5" drive, but a 3.5" drive will require external power. A cheap 3.5" usb enclosure will work

    Possible project boat? StarCraft Islander

depends on the market.. There are guys that will give $2,500 for that right now.. Its's a $10k boat in good enough condition to fish. rigged with downriggers where I am at. It's a later model Islander. Yes it's worth at least $500 which is probably some where around scrap value. But it's...

    New Tires

It depends. Those are the load ratings for the tires that came on the trailer. If you buy the same load range tires as it came with, then you can run those pressures, but if you change the load range, then that pressure is wrong. It is safest to run a tire at max pressure. It will run colder...

    New Tires

I install trailer tires professionally as part of my day job and not through a mcdiscount tire shop. so I can give some sound, accurate advice. The best tire that you can buy is Goodyear Endurance radial. The Goodyear Marathon is a tire to avoid. Michellin rates their LT truck tires for trailer...

    1972 21' Starcraft Holiday Questions

I just noticed yours is an outboard and that may be different. It might have never come with a tank except whatever motor the dealer installed originally... The SC I/O's all had 18 gallon steel tanks under the b2b loungers, or used as pedestal bases in the case of the cabin boats An extra 10...

    Late 60’s Mercury outboard weight

Stress cracks on a 'glass boat means the transom is flexing and is rotten... You are going to have to tear it down for a rebuild before you even consider putting it back on the lake

Semi fitted boat covers, how to choose one?

I bought a semi cover off Iboats for my little 14' SC Holiday runabout. I forget which brand, but it's made of the cheaper fabric, but it's a major upgrade over the $50 universal covers from Walmart. It also cost triple that. I don't love the cover, but I don't hate it. Having a custom cover...

mercruiser 5.0 head gaskets new felpro..not stainless steel?

It says stainless laminate, which likely means that there is a thin steel core. Because it would be encapsulated by the stainless it's a way to make it cheaper but still effective.

    Late 60’s Mercury outboard weight

BUT, on the other hand, you don't buy a vintage Merc to be reliable, you buy it for the black beauty hanging on the transom..

    Late 60’s Mercury outboard weight

Merc's were lighter as they were built to be faster... A 4cyl Merc was in the 250lbs range so it's logical. Johnson/ Evinrude were built to be workhorses

    1986 Yamaha 200 Slow Starter

You can load test a starter to see if it's good. Commutator starting to get worn, brushes getting carboned up and/ or worn and bam you get a slow start. What it does is draws more current than the battery normally delivers.. Booster pack gives it a jump and it gets good power again. The other...
