    1989 Bayliner Capri Alarm

Looks like you have an L Drive Bayliner. I can't tell for sure, but I think that's what I see. I'm guessing the alarm was water circulation / heat ... did you have the motor on muffs? Confirm that's an L Drive (or not) before you go too much further. They're not common, not really liked...

    Random

Good chance he was on a run, and the water running over the roadbed hid the washout. So it looked "crossable." Ops over that area were pretty hairy for a while.

How do I test a starter solenoid that's attached to a starter? (20' Shamrock 2001)

Shamrock is typically a true inboard, right? Shouldn't be an OMC though (I don't think). Do you know the displacement of the engine?

My first post - hoping you can help

I just replaced my prop hub last year, and there was a new washer in the kit. Did you put a new prop hub on?

    Show us your BBQ gun

A Tennessee permit is a carry permit, not a concealed permit. You can carry open or concealed under either the permit or permitless carry (within the state). If you are carrying under the permitless law, you can only carry in the state. If you have the permit, you can carry in states that...

    Hunting

I was gonna' ask if the .303 Enfield is really that good of a hunting gun (particularly for moose)? I've got a .243 that is great for distances, but I've even had concerns for it knocking down a deer at longer ranges (I don't hunt too much, so it's not an issue). But most guys I know are...

First time boat owner with questions about 1998 Starcraft 1810 LX

Wake boat is usually filling and emptying ballast tanks. That's more often what you're seeing pour out. Even with several people getting in and out of the boat, there should really only be enough water collecting in the bilge for the bilge pump to turn on once for a few moments. Generally...

First time boat owner with questions about 1998 Starcraft 1810 LX

Let's start with fluids: if this is a new-to-you boat, you need to do an engine oil & filter change (See your manual for the how-to). You also need to change your drive's gear lube (again, the Seloc manual will give you the how-to). Check your tilt trim fluid and fill. You need to change the...

Is the prop hub spun? If it's revving out and you're not moving, that's a possibility too.

Make sure you support the outdrive. In my opinion, you're actually better removing it (doesn't take long). Removing those two bolts through the housing, and relieving the pressure off the worm gear should make it so that assembly (motor) comes out relatively easily. In reality those bolts are...

Looking for proper name for this drive

On your engine there should be a tag that has a model number something like "990234E MT" - that will tell you which model Stringer you have.

New used boat getting the water flowing

^^^ LOL  I'm not a fan of the whale tails. Supposedly, they help lift the stern when you're on plane/planing and stabilize the outdrive. But, bow wander (as such) is normal. Learn how it works with your hull and don't overcorrect.

1968 Slickcraft 19 foot Just Purchased!

Welcome aboard: with the electric tilt, you're most likely up against the tilt motor. It's on the port side, WAY back against the intermediate gear housing ... probably in a space not quite large enough for a 8 year old to squeeze into :D If it's the original '68 setup, you've got either a...

Neede help identifying OMC stern drive

I'll take the counter point: my first I/O purchase ever was a OMC Electric Shift Stringer. I was pretty much clueless on sterndrives, but picked up the boat cheap. Fortunately I came here for help, and a couple of guys gave me some tips. For less than $800 I had the boat all cleaned up, and...
