    1990 Force L-Drive 90hp -- Can't get it to idle -- losing my mind :D

No this leak will allow water to get to the gas. 3 plugs two look normal the shiny one, check for fire/spark. A clean plug usually means it not firing. 91 octane no need to spend the extra cash. In the long run 91 can actually damage your motor, it's designed for 87 octane. Look on Google and...

    125 force outboard

Longer cables shouldn't make a whole lot of difference unless your talking 15-20ft. longer. As long as they're connected right a couple of feet too long won't hurt, a couple feet too short? That can affect the shift, throttle. If you just changed the powerhead, then experience hard shifting then...

    1990 Force L-Drive 90hp -- Can't get it to idle -- losing my mind :D

Are the carbs opening at the same time? You have 2 butterflies, one for the choke and the other inside the carb. The choke should stay open unless you hit the choke. The other(inside) should all move at the same time as you throttle up. You have the regular choke or the primer system? If the...

    Ficht leaks fuel.

Took the vapor separator apart and the needle is defective. Has the soft rubber tip and it's screwed. The bad: they don't sell separate parts for this thing only whole units. The start at 350$ used if you have one or the needle/seat and cap laying around send me a PM.

Octane will make no difference other than the higher octane used for extended periods can cause damage, burns too hot. Search Google for the difference in the octanes and the results of running the wrong one. All you need is the 87 You have plastic or metal floats in the carbs? Make sure...

    Force 70hp trim motor!

It helps if you mention the year, model and add pics. I believe they sell the motors on this site. They could have used 2-3 different style motors, made by Prestolite and Mercury. Look here too. https://maxrules.com/fixforcetrim.php

    1988 Force 125 tilt pump

You took the pump apart??? not good :( They can be a &^%$ to rebuild. RRitt and a few others posted in the "stickeys" on T@T repair. You look there? The first 4 posts in this forum are the stickeys. But I don't think there's anything there about rebuilding the pump itself?? There's stuff about...

How flat is flat? ‘88 Force 50HP cylinder head

Just put it on. It's soft aluminum and it will fit. Never have I had to mill a head to make it fit. If you want to mill anything the block where it meets the head or if the exhaust cover's been removed? then those surfaces should be milled. The heating and cooling has eaten the edges and when...

    what sealant for force l/u

The white stuff is probably White Lithium Grease. Anti-Seize is good in fresh water but in salt can cause problems. I use White Lithium and marine wheel grease, depending on the job. Head bolts= marine grease.

    Need to decarb help plz.

Yes I think I can. Decarb, if it's in a spray can then spraying direct into the carbs won't hurt a thing. OMC, Mercury, Yam all make/use a product, I think all use the same product just a different name. Power Tune, Engine Tuner and the Yam product(not sure of the name) I get the motor hot and...

    Lower bearing carrier removal

Don't touch that screw. The 2 screws holding in the carrier, after removal it "should" come out. There's slots around the inside f the carrier that you can put puller arms into and then pull the carrier out. Too much heat can make it stick. I made my own puller arms with some 1/4" rod I got at...
