Mercury 115 CT 2.1l Injector loose from rail

Hi all Just found one of the injectors, slightly a drift from the fuel rail feed. The wee metal sprung clip isn’t going all the way home, as a result. Wonder if anyone else has found similar on other similar engines. Also wondering if this might be as a result of, or the source of my gremlins !

08 5.0 mpi (alpha 1 gen2 ) engine sputters initially under load but will clear up after some use. Cranks and idles fine though.

Hi. Check the shift interrupt switch and adjust if need be. Mine and a couple of others I know of lately, have had such an issue. Especially when accelerating and/or full throttle. It can get momentarily nudged by the throttle assembly, then cuts the ignition to some cylinders. Make sure that...

350 Mag Mpi hard to start when warm or hot

Good luck. Sure sounds like it’s a battery issue. Even if you have both batteries selected. That bad one, is now pulling the health of the better one.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Something definitely isn’t making sense with that. Anyway. If you aren’t bothered. That’s fine, I suppose.

350 Mag Mpi hard to start when warm or hot

Hi. By far and away…the most common cause of this I’ve seen, with the mpi…is as a result of a bad battery. Or compromised battery cables, fittings or related items. Especially rang true, when you said she will start if you throttle. I’d go so far as 100%…if you told me additionally, that it pops...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Doesn’t make numerical sense to me at all. In terms of physical prop slip possibilities

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Oh really ?? I thought the fella said it was two exact same props, just an inch apart. The 4 blade explains just about everything really.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Wasn’t meaning that you were inadequate with the trim. Have a look at my last list there. See if that makes sense.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Vessel view will tell you one way or the other, exactly none of the last few things that @jimmbo mentioned to you. I tend to agree with him there. Got to be something else going on there. I’d just double check the prop size again. Make sure it’s for your gearbox size and fitting is correct. It’s...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Dare say this is as a result of trim of the engine. Either that or you’ve been mislead by the pitch. Not often that props come in 1” pitch increments. Not for general props anyway.

    Compressions for the following two.

Just the usual jet ski stuff really. Make sure it’s all water tight. The ride plate and intake bolts etc all tight and not snapped. Easily done when removing or tightening too much. Grease the greasing points. Likely a zerk on or near the coupling from engine to pump. Steering and trim at the...

    Compressions for the following two.

I can’t say for the Kawasaki, but from memory, the Yamaha should be at least 160 and ideally about 180/190 psi roughly. That’s what my FXHO was anyway. The 1100 mr1. Yours may be the newer 1.8 though. But even at that. Certainly upwards of 160 for sure.

    ok..prop experts...?

Hi. I can likely help here. I have a 2016 115 CT. What boat is yours on ? I have 3 props I change between fairly regularly. I’ve tried a few others too. I go between a 19” laser 2, 19” tempest plus and a 20” enertia. My engine is on a 19ft deep v narrow cuddy sports boat. Some accurately...

    Orkney 590tt

Hi. Big fan of an Orkney boat. All I’d suggest is that these boats, although they will technically plane, aren’t built like most planing boats. They tend to hit a wall of certain speed, no matter what engine they have on them really. You won’t notice much difference in top end speed I’d say...
