    Hi. On occasion, these tamd’s have a reverse gear oil cooler. I’d have a look at the seals on this for certain, if it applies to you. Likely has a shaft gland cooling fitting and hose around there too. Be unlikely perhaps, but make sure it’s not weeping and entering via the dip stick further aft.

    Rpm range is 4600-5000 and limiter is around 5100/5150 rpm. You can rarely get a 1.47 ratio on an mpi 5.0, but most would be a lower ratio, I’d think. Your horsepower is 260hp

    That’s extremely low compression numbers, without looking up what it should be…I’d be certain that most 4 strokes would be way higher. Just roughly and generally, I’d say most would be above 140 for sure and more likely about 160+.

    First thing I’d do is get a meter and test the output to the battery. Then output from the stator if all is not well. Other than that, keep it simple like plug health, ht leads etc etc. ignition coil and all that. There might be a compression test in there too, just to rule out anything nasty
