Problem Replacing old incandescent NAV lights with LED lights

12 DC LED have built in resistors. When you connect LED lights in series, the 12v is going to be divided equally among the LED lights. Thus, if you have 2 LED lights, 6v for each one. If you have 3 LED lights, 4v for each one Would have to wire in parallel

Evinrude Vindicator 1996 Won’t Start for an Hour—then Runs Great!! Help!!

Sounds like same issue I was going through 96’ Ocean Pro Long story…. after working for 6 months, new primer valves clicks but motor does not start. Use red lever, motor roars to life at the turn of the key. Either needle valve is stuck or something plugged up the passages. Still have the...

What problem are you trying to solve? I have a motion activated lights at the barn. Love/ hate relationship until I found a light that you could take in and out of manual mode from the switch. Flip the switch on and of quickly puts it into manual mode. Flip the switch on and off again, put...

Where would you rather fish the 3rd week in October

Sounds like a lot of fun…. Son in law and I have been talking about going to Cabo for years. Still on the bucket list, but pretty hard to ignore a world class tuna, marlin and wahoo fishery only 4 hours from home.

    Mercury 200 2.5 EFI

What does the voltage regulator have to do with no spark? Have you checked l tire pressure? Just kidding Throwing parts at a EFI rarely if ever resolves the issue. Nine out of 10 times it’s a wiring and or sensor related A no fire situation would have me looking at the crank position feedback...

    Welding a pivoting Bow Stop?

The entire setup looks out of whack. How much tongue weight do you have? Looks like the boat is too far back on the trailer. The center of gravity of the boat should be sitting just forward of the center of the axles. The bow stop is upside down and not positioned properly. The bow eye goes...

Where would you rather fish the 3rd week in October

What size? Numbers would suggest schoolies. Pondered a long range trip for sometime now. Not sure if it’s worth it. Still have not chased winter “giants” 300 miles down the road yet, either thou

    Replaced 3 way (nav/off/anchor) 6 pin switch on 93 tracker pro 17

Well, the anchor light would be used only at night. Guessing the other switch positions become “lighted” at that point

    Copper head gasket

1000 series aluminum (commercially pure) wouldn't last long given the pressure, temp and the lack of oxygen. C110 Copper would be a much better solution

Why I do not have new boats.

Sounds like we took two very different paths, yet ultimately ended up where we wanted to be. I could be the poster boy for a Dave Ramsey “what not to do” poster yet somehow exceeded all goals in the long run. My only regret in life will be if…..Mrs. Dingbat sells my toys when I’m gone for...

    Motor well drainage

Following seas........I've had my motor well completely full along with ankle deep water on the deck more times than I care to remember. Can't imagine intentionally dumping that amount of water in a bilge with the hope of pumping it out with a bilge pump.

    Electric nightmare

That’s the proper way to switch high loads through an ignition switch if required. Why involve a key switch, relays, etc. to power distribution panel(s)? The additional hardware substantially increases the chance of a failure over a simple, common point operator, ie battery switch.

90HP Mercury 4Stroke EFI Stalling at Idle and Surging

Pressure and flow sensors are notoriously inaccurate and failure prone. Besides, fuel pumps work until they don’t. The display would say 45 lbs. day in and day out until the time it said 12 lbs. and the boat starts surging and acting like it’s running out of fuel…lol You either buy the...
