How to get old transom ports out/replaced/fixed.

Not as bad as it sounds as long as you can get to the nut

    Bilge Buddy Review

Depends on the failure mode...... If the pump failed your done, period. If it was the float "sensor" that failed, it would be easier to just install a second sensor in parallel. Wouldn't have a location tracking device following you around

    Affordable fuel injection intriguing

Neither GM or Mercury make embedded processor modules (ECM) My main concern would be long term support for the ECM

    Bilge Buddy Review

How much is the monthly user fee? I assume there is an additional fee to have someone come out to remediate the situation if someone isn't available? Cell service or WiFi required?

How to get old transom ports out/replaced/fixed.

Replaced all my thru hulls a few years back. Never going to remove them with front access only. Need to get to the back side of the fitting and put a wrench on the nut. A 10" or 12" flat file fit perfectly in the slots. Used a 12" adjustable wrench to hold the file/fitting while I cranked on...

    Climate change and fishing

I'm guessing the inland, northern birds which you speak are White Pelicans. The birds in question are Brown Pelicans. Lives on the Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific Coasts in the Americas. On the Atlantic Coast, it is found from the New Jersey coast to the mouth of the Amazon River. Along the...

    Electric nightmare

Not a fan of having a key switch involved in powering anything except the ignition and start relay. Running a Blue Seas, Dual Battery Plus (On/Off/Combine) switch. All electronics wired to a dedicated fuse panel connected to one of the accessory outputs on switch.

90HP Mercury 4Stroke EFI Stalling at Idle and Surging

A surging EFI fuel delivery problem. Why did you change all those parts? What is the fuel pressure on rail before startup? Have you monitored fuel pressure while running?

60 hp EFI Won't Stay Running

What is the fuel pressure on the rail? Designs vary, but you typically have a low pressure fuel pump, a VST (satisfy EPA) and a high pressure fuel pump to generate pressure in the rail. Typically have float controls in either the VST or the high pressure pump housing. Odds are you have a...

CDI Electronics and AGM Battery Compatibility

Just because USCG doesn't recognize it as a safety violation, doesn't change the fact that wing nuts are a well documented source of charging systems failures. The only advantage to a wing nut is cost and the ability to tighten ot loosen w/o tools. If you're going to "mechanically" (use a...

    3" Livewell Drains. Why?

They all have drains on the bottom. Otherwise you couldn’t drain them. Should have a “overflow” outlet on the side tank with a simple drain plug or a “drain” in the bottom with a “plug in” stand pipe of some sort to raise the water level before draining

    3" Livewell Drains. Why?

Not familiar with your particular boat, but returns are typically a lot larger to facilitate draining the unit quickly. My overboard drain is 2.5" and above the water line. No need to do anything

1998 Mercury 150 EFI Flooding Out

Don't think the diagram you posted above applies to your motor.....EFI typically don't have an oil supply inlet (I) on the Vaper separator Here is the test procedure for the EFI fuel system https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1737735/Mercury-150-Efi.html?page=253#manual Then again, what are you...

1998 Mercury 150 EFI Flooding Out

EFI uses both a high and low pressure pump. The LP is pulse driven but the high pressure pump is electric. Starts running when you turn the key on. Fuel coming out of the overflow is typically a bad (float valve) HP fuel pump.

    Electric nightmare

No key involved. These devises are typically wired directly to the battery. Before you start tracking down wiring, hit the basics….. do you have 12.7 volts on the battery?
