Trim not work above 3000rpm (377Mag MPI DTS Axius)

Not sure if my boat has the active trim, unless it is part of the Axius 'Eco' system (which I have yet to ticker with). I have a manual for the Axius (Gen 2) that came with the boat.

    Upgrading Gen 5 VP V8-300 (300HP) to a V8-350 (350 HP)

The PCM will have the engine serial number 'flashed' into it. You'd have to get a stand-alone PCM for the 350 HP. Not sure you could get that though . . . Does the Regal 28 have just a single engine? If so, I don't think 50 extra HP is going to be much of a solution.

HF 1.5w Solar Panel for trickle charge dual battery system?

Try it and report back. The 1.5 watt chargers certainly work, based on the consumer reviews. Probably not enough for dual batteries, and assumes you have good sunshine. Keep in mind that the self discharging of the battery happens continuously, so during the daylight hours, the solar panel...

Trim not work above 3000rpm (377Mag MPI DTS Axius)

You should certainly be able to trim down at any RPM, but not up past a certain point at cruising speeds. (trim limit) I have trimmed up on my boat at 3600 RPM . . . of course the boat slowed down, so I trimmed back down and the boat re-gained its speed. (I have the Merc 6.2 ECT SeaCore w/...

    Bravo 3 shifting

Welcome to iBoats . . . Bravo outdrives have a cone clutch and sometimes the clutch does not engage fully at low speeds due to 'glazed' clutch surfaces. Not saying this is the issue, but it is something to consider. Usually it happens with forward, since that is used the most. Tell us a bit...

No oil pressure on 97 Monterey with 5.7

1997 there would certainly be an alarm for low/no oil pressure, but maybe a switch as well. You are probably best to pull the engine, since the oil pump is down in the oil pan and not accessible otherwise.

    2012 VP 300 C-A Exhaust manifolds getting too hot - DTC 441 & 442

Following . . . @muc, @alldodge , and @Lou C (and others) were helpful to me on some engine issues I had earlier this season - 2016 Twin Mercury 6.2 ECT SeaCore. (CAT, DTS, Axius, Joystick) I almost bought a boat with twin VP engines . . . "V8-350-CE-D" was the model number and there was...

HF 1.5w Solar Panel for trickle charge dual battery system?

The self-discharge rate of these batteries at full charge is about 25ma (right?) (1% of capacity per day at 'room' temperature).

HF 1.5w Solar Panel for trickle charge dual battery system?

I took a look at an AC powered battery maintainer that I have and it's output was rated for about 6 watts (500ma @ 12 volts) IIRC. The 1.5 watt is probably fine as even at 60% of its rated power, it will deliver about 70ma to the battery(ies). That may be a bit low. Of course if you want a...

    Signs of bad pour foam

EPS boards used as flotation generally want/need to have air exposure on many of the sides. That is why I used thin strips to hold the EPS up off the hull when used in hull cavities. It may also be helpful to coat them with something like latex paint (water-based) to improve their water...

    Signs of bad pour foam

I would think it was a bad batch. The company has a fairly large Internet footprint and decent reviews, even though they are not up front about their physical location(s).

    1990 Bayliner 2651 resto

I recall seeing a thread a while back about a guy who did a piecemeal restoration of his boat, cutting out only the worst of the issues and leaving what looked to be 'OK' in the hull. A few years later he was back at it with the wrecking saw, redoing his work because the OK stuff caught up...

    Signs of bad pour foam

Hard to say, if it was bad batch of foam. You mentioned 80˚ F temperature. Was that the outside temperature? Was the foam liquid stored at 80˚ F? . . . or were the A & B liquids colder? Was anything else (boat, etc) colder? Typical 2# foam should give you about 20 seconds of mixing time...

Runs great on muffs but not in lake

There are so many threads like this . . . 'runs great in the driveway' . . . running an engine with no load means nothing. I would suspect the carburetor (it is carbed, right?) What was done, if anything, to the carb during the rebuild?

Twin Merc. 6.2 Mags with Bravo 3 - EMCT Temperature Overheat Fault - Port side Manifolds (Only)

Nice work on replacing the exhaust. A raw water cooled engine in salt water is going to have a limited life span. Getting 9 years out of the exhaust is a good run. At some point, the engine block want some attention. 15-20 years on the block in salt water is a good run as well. On your next...

1990 ish Evinrude 25 HP - Screeching from the controls

No worries- I’ll run it to take it out for the season. I probably will do a barnacle buster flush to dissolve some salt, then see about the impeller. Salt water .
