    Bravo 3 Shift Adjustment . . .

I did it !!! :D (y) 🤪 . I just needed to get the gear set on my bench so I could get a bit of leverage on it. Essentially I had to push down on the top gear with a fair amount of force until it 'shifted'. It all was easy from there.

Riser Extension Blocks - Full Closed Cooling ???

Yes, considering the cost, I decided for the 3"needed I'd just rely on a long 'tube' to couple the 2 sections of the exhaust system together. Seems to be easier said than done.

    Bravo 3 Shift Adjustment . . .

The only thing that I notice is that the cone clutch is engaged in the 'top' gear, but I'm not sure how to release it back to a 'neutral' state. . . if that matters

    Bravo 3 Shift Adjustment . . .

Update . . . Bringing my thread back to life, as I am now taking the outdrives apart to fix the clutches. I am doing the 'unapproved' approach of de-glazing the clutch surfaces. Anyway, I got the outdrive apart . . . . . . I am at the point where I need to take the top gear off the shaft...

Riser Extension Blocks - Full Closed Cooling ???

Yes, heated up the tube and grease it . . . Still no-go. The tube is the reinforced with a spiral wire running through it. I'm going to try to get a 3-3/4" tube . . . or I wonder if a silicone tube has more stretch & flex to it?

Riser Extension Blocks - Full Closed Cooling ???

Aahh Phoooey . . . The down elbows need a 3-3/4" ID wet exhaust hose to couple them to the Y-pipe 😒 4" ID is too big and 3-1/2" ID is too small (tight). I tried the 3-1/2" and it is a no-go. Looks like I got to try to get 3-3/4" (95mm) . . . sort of an odd size, but I think I...

    Gas Leak

You posted this on another forum (right?) You probably got a good indication from the input you have gotten over there so far. Feel free to post a few pictures to aid in further input.

    Mercruiser engine alignment sideways

The horizontal alignment is a consideration and as you noted there will be some play. The best thing to do is use the grease marks on the alignment tool and also rotate the crankshaft in 90˚ increments to understand if the coupler is giving you consistent results. Then do your horizontal...

What is the effect of decreasing Prop diameter?

Several changes all at once . . . Material, diameter, and the prop design itself. As far as the diameter, lower diameter moves less water per revolution, requiring less power, so you may/should see the RPM go up. However, . . . the change from aluminum to stainless is going to be big...

    Replacing stringers

We don't know if you could tackle the job, but many others have fixed their boats through a learning process. So, you should look around the forum for similar situations and decide for yourself if you can do it. Many can and have done.

Dragon Keelboat 1964 restoration... Need help!

My experience is taking a 12' Beetle Cat (wooden cat boat) from the bone yard to a daily sailor. Is there a set of class rules that the boat would want/need to stay 'class legal' ( I would assume there is) . That will govern some of your approach. There are probably some wooden boat forums...

2008 Tahoe Q6 Gas Tank Removal

Kind of early in the boat's life to be loosing the fuel tank. Post some pictures so we can see what you are seeing. There is a storage locker with a floor grate up by the helm and the floor is carpeted. (right?) I would assume that the tank is in the subfloor between the rear and helm area...

    Mercrusier 5.0 MPI (2008) RPM stops @ 3200.

My idea is that replacing all of that stuff won't make a difference. There have been too many threads over the years that have gone this course. You could do a fuel system pressure check to see if it is within spec. Otherwise, you are best to get the computer diagnostics hooked up as see what...

Lost Propulsion! Need Help! Reply ASAP!!

You posted this on THT as well. Were you able to verify if the propeller was OK? If so, let us know what you find out once you pull the outdrive. Don't assume anything at this point. I've seen Alphas strip their gears, but that is usually due to water sports and messing around with...

Dragon Keelboat 1964 restoration... Need help!

Also, just wondering . . . What the affection is for this particular boat (Dragon)? Do you know of this type of boat and want to bring it back from the dead? (it is dead as far as I can tell) Little money and lots of time . . . it would be better if it were the other way around. The boat is...
