    Do a compression test? Dirty inside starter? Does the starter get hot? how about the battery posts and cables? If the bearings are corroded, that can cause hard turning too.

    1995 Force 50 Turns over, doesn’t start

    If your running in a tank? Make sure the water is deep. Needs to be 4 inches over the top of the cavitation plate. FYI If it's a 2 piece lower: then it needs special muffs for running on the hose. Using regular muffs can cause over heating.

    The 2 balls are the connection points for the ends of the shift and throttle cables. They take 2 special connectors. Both are available, Ebay has them. One ebay theif is selling the throttle one for 50$ If you get the controls, they sometimes come on the end of the cable?? I sent you a PM.
