Replaced prop with the "same" spec prop. Loss of bottom end.

So that means you only matched dia and pitch....so it is not exactly the same prop as before !!

    Budget Boat Covers

A custom cover is really great, quick to put on and off, keeps water and debris out, lasts for many years !! Yes they can be pricey, but you need to shop !! I have used car guys often, these are the guys thar sew upholstery for classic cars. These guys are generly quite good and dont charge...

    Budget Boat Covers

Most any cover will work if kept taught to shed water and debris...the real damage comes from driving down the road...few covers can withstand the forces of driving down the highway. If you can fabricate a means of keeping the cover taught you should be good but if your gonna trailer...

Replaced prop with the "same" spec prop. Loss of bottom end.

One bent blade will not change your hole shot and you will get a noticible vibration, dings mabey not, but a bent blade..yep !! You have an engine issue !!

Replaced prop with the "same" spec prop. Loss of bottom end.

If you bent a blade that bad, you should be getting serious vibration ...perhaps that first prop had been reworked/ repitched before you damaged it and the numbers don't match the pitch.

    1957 Johnson Javelin power

What is your definetion of fast ? I would expect around mabey 22-24 mph if the engine runs good. What actual speed are you getting ?? Do you have a tach to see operating rpm?

better to be at the low end or top end of RPM?

I have always propped to the highest rpm when the lightest load is in the boat...then it is easier on things when you add some passengers or other weight. Hardly ever run at wot for any period of time.

    Curious on selling price

As a buyer, my real concerns woukd be proper paperwork including all repair reciepts. Then my concerns would turn to any wood in the stringers and transom !! While looks are important, structure support is the most important !! Is the sellor willing to allow a thorough deep inspection or has...

Trailer Question - want to drill a new hole into the frame to move crossbar supporting wobble roller

Those furthest to the rear rollers need to be right at the transom edge !! On my boat the rollers at the back are about centered on the transom edge when bow is tight against the stop...this is how it should be... Winch stands are typically adjustable, so get the boat in the correct position...

    got me a new boat!

My 1983 had a steel tank...you don't want one of those for rusting reasons !! Mine has a 24 gallon aluminum tank under the passenger seat with no issues. Added a deck fill on the gunnel. Plastic is better than a steel tank if that is what yours came with!!

    Delta Dawn- ‘72 Chieftain

Give the bottom a really good cleaning, any weak areas will need an aluminum patch riveted over that spot. Small pinholes can be covered with " goop" exterior hull coating, an epoxy based coating that contains fibers to plug and seal small pinholes. Great reviews !! Just need to be sure weak...

Trailer Question - want to drill a new hole into the frame to move crossbar supporting wobble roller

It appears that the section with the rollers slides into a larger area...is that adjustable?? Mabey just sliding it forward would work ?? However, if you need to drill a new hole I don't see it being an issue. As far as tongue weight, there are a number of ways to create more tongue...

That was a waste of time, do a thorough rebuild with a kit and get rid of those worn out parts. A kit will also tell you how to setup the carb to start...
