Most any insurance company should have boat insurance. Mine is covered as an addition to my home owners insurance. Yes I have full coverage just like a car, liability, medical, collision etc. Have carried boat insurance thru my ins. agent for almost 50 years, never an issue.

    Bunk material and paint

My Islander has been on a roller trailer since 1983, barely some rub marks on the paint, most of that was a roller went bad and put some black marks on the painted hull, to lazy to crawl under and clean it off!! My 16' Sylvan has a cream color painted hull, no marks from the rollers since 1992...

    1995 Mercury 25hp 2 stroke issues

I would try going one heat range hotter on the plugs, all your idling doesnt help the plugs stay clean. I have had my best sucess with NGK plugs...for what that is worth

    maximum external gas tank size?

None in my state unless you have a problem, then there are always issues!! Look at pontoon boats they generally have two 6 gallon tanks on the back. A single 12 gallon tank might throw off your balance though....

    Bottom paint on Aluminum Crestliner

Painted hulls clean quite easily without fouling paint. Just pull the boat out once per month and give it a good cleaning. I wouldn't take a chance with antifouling paint !! It can be sucessfull with proper preparation and application, but if it isn't done correctly.....to bad !! I have found...

Fresh water system Winterization....anyone drain system for winter storage?

I never used my system for drinking either, no matter how much cleaning you do, it still has a funny taste !! For cleaning, cooking everything but drinking, while the water is perfectly safe, don't like the taste, even for my morning coffee. The mrs and I only need a gallon of fresh drinking...

Solid repair shop for boring force 85 cylinder

Who ever does the job should have the piston and rings in hand before boring. If you have the block stripped down, it shouldnt be that hard to find a shop.....with that said...it appears we have become a throw away society, making repairs is becomming a dying trade, so it just might be more...

Fresh water system Winterization....anyone drain system for winter storage?

If you dont use AF then blow it out, opening all valves !! Water can and will get trapped in valves, nooks and crannies where just draining may not get it all out!! Those sneaky places can freeze, expand and damage/ cause leaks.....ask me how I know .....

    is Nada boat valuation acurate?

Most dealers won't care what your charts and graphs show, they know what they have in it and what they want to get out of it. Find other boats in your area and compare condition to asking price. As mentioned, be prepared to walk away !!! Most dealers know how to read body language, they will...

1997 Landau 1650 need more speed

Due to rivets and hull shape, aluminum boats do not do ultra high speed well at all !!! If you can reach mid 40's consider yourself very lucky.. Kinda like a drag racing car, it costs about 100K to break into the 200 mph bracket, but another 200K to get to the 225 mph bracket....sometimes not...
