    Simple Floor Ideas?

Sounds messy and expensive, plywood sounds so much easier...if you had a flat floor like a jon boat then plus one on the foam board !!

    Simple Floor Ideas?

Nope, only use aluminum or stainless, no galvanized material !! There were no center supports in any of my flooring builds. If they were larger boats with floors spanning a bigger area then they might be needed. If I had two people that weighed 200 lbs each standing in one spot then mabey a...

Have you tested the compression of that little motor??? Without good compression nothing else matters!!

    Simple Floor Ideas?

Have added floors in small tinnies many times. The best, cheapest, and user friendly floor is made by either buying or find a local machine/ fabrication to bend you some simple aluminum or stainless steel angles as long as necessary to span the length of your tank seats at a height you want...

    Wasn’t sure where to post.

If he is looking at new outboards, then he should consider up sizing from a 12 to a 14' boat!! I am also 73 yrs old, much more safety and comfort in a 14 footer and less money than a new 6 hp outboard. Even if he needed a new trailer for a 14' , still less than a new motor !!

1997 Landau 1650 need more speed

Prop the engine to give it max wot rpm with just you onboard. Power trim and tilt will allow you to trim to the max mph...thats all your gonna get, unless you go bigger on the engine. You will need lots more hp to just gain a few mph...normally not worth it!!

    Wasn’t sure where to post.

You never want to go above the factory recomended hp !! You will be fine with that 6hp, it will scoot right along....if you want to keep your 9.9, why not move up to a 14' boat...much more stabil than your 12'....probably cheaper than a new motor..

    Alumacraft Deep C Transom Replacement

Need to take some measurements, most alum boats use anywhere from an 1/8" up to a 1/4" dia rivet depending on what it is used for.. start with a small drill and keep going a little bigger until the rivet head pops off. Then measure the rivet body. Best to re rivet, but many just use good...

Keen to hear from mercury 75-115 efi owners, 2015-present 2.1l models !

Same story as always, if you have a motor that has been a good one with little or no issues then you love it !! However if your unlucky enough to get a bad one that has caused you problems, then your gonna hate it. Better off knowing the percentage of problems folks have had vs the number...

    1995 Chaperral 1930ss Drain plug?

For future reference, you can use one of the expandable rubber plugs in a pinch. They are availiable in various sizes and each size is adjustable quite a bit. Always carry a couple of various sizes for that unplanned emergency.

    Opinion on this motor operation

Yep hard to tell sitting on a stand with muffs. Fresh fuel, a little seafoam, put a prop on it, and an actual sea trial will tell you more, much more.

    Steering Wheel for Tiller Boat?

Bottom line is the tail fins have their place in light weight boats that are stern heavy....normally weight can be shifted to help the boat get up on plane more quickly!! Some folks refuse to try the balancing act and sometimes there is just to much weight at the back when the driver sits back...

Trolling motor powered by DeWalt 20 volt battery is rs

If you, battery, anchor, fuel tank are all in the middle I dont see any problem !! The only tracking issue would be if something was throwing the weight to one side or the other. Keep that 3 hp motor in the center andvyou should be good to go....you might need to make some minor adjustments to...

Any Outboard Repair Shop Owners Here? Need Info If You're Willing!

A lot is going to depend on the season...winter will be slower than summer !! Also where your located, near big bodies of water or way out by the desert. Having worked in a small shop way back when, I can tell you for sure todays shops have greatly inflated their overhead compared to years...

    Steering Wheel for Tiller Boat?

Had one of these in late 60's, with an 18 hp evinrude, great tinnie....I added extensions to middle tank seat to create a platform, under which I added the 6 gal fuel tabk on the back side and a battery on the front side and anchor up under front seat. No issues with just me in the boat, never...
