    every kit has an element in it. I would soak it in parts cleaner and put a new kit in it for 12 bucks.     Its an 82 and why do you need to replace the carb? Its a Tecumseh power head just like a lawn mower. Look on ebay for a carb but I would soak it and blow it out put a kit in it.
