    1150 Link & Sync Question

When you rebuild the Carbs, there is one Modification that you should do, see that black Hose running along the top of the Carb. Remove it from the Fuel Bowl Cover and Plug it with a small ball bearing. Doing that will disable the Auto-Leaning of the Carb's Metering System. It was added to the...

Had spindal changed now water coming in back of boat

Welcome to iboats Spinal changed? A loose Timing Chain Cover would be sending Oil, not water into the bilge. When the shop worked on it they probably drained the Block, possibly any Power Steering Cooler and did not reinstall the Plugs in , to insure any water remaining would drain when the...

So once it slows down, what exactly does it do when you try to give it more Throttle? Does it Die, or just keep Idling? Does this only happen at 3000 rpm, or does it do it at other speeds? I know you say you checked the tank vent, but is it actually connected to the Tank? Have you tried opening...

    Timimg on mercury

These outboards are not tuned like you are tuning a Car from the 60s or 70s. There is no Spec for Idle Timing, as the Timing is what is adjusted to get the desired Idle Speed. Melting a Piston, usually requires more than just Honing a Cylinder, and putting in a new Piston and Rings. What caused...

    1984/85 35hp thermostat question

Welcome to iboats That sounds more like a Fuel issue, than an a Hot Engine issue. Why are you thinking it is overheating? Just because the carbs and the rest of the fuel system were services/cleaned last year, doesn't mean they aren't dirty/gummed up again this year.
