    Force 1989 125 question

The link I send has the testing procedure of the trigger ( DVA adapter is required) If you have a Factory manual; the testing procedure will be in there as well
  3. The Force power

    Force 1986 85hp

If I may add; Make sure you are cranking the engine with a TESTED GOOD battery! a weak battery will not spin fast enough to produce enough electricity to create spark.

70hp Force outboard idles high and Bogs down with throttle

That is the fuel-enrichment valve (it replaced the old choke-plates in the carburetors (it maybe jamming-up in the open position)

    Force 1989 125 question

Maybe you have an aftermarket CDI trigger-assembly on it? Here's a link to diagnose the Ignition / wires start around page #18 https://www.cdielectronics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/CDI%20Troubleshooting%20Guide%20-%202012.pdf

    Force 1989 125 question

There's no wiring to hook-up on the actual trigger side, hook up the right color wire to the correct wire on the terminal-strip as per schematic

    Force 1989 125 question

    I hope this helps
  8. The Force power

85hp force will not start. Fuel not getting to cylinders.

As mentioned before; be very very careful installing them, they break easily!! also when ready to place the half make sure the openings are turned down so you know they're seated right.

    Sport Jet 120

Inspect the gasket between the block and adapter-plate as these most likely the blow For more engine info; post your question(s) in the force engine section as the blocks are identical

    89 125 won't go into forward gear

You'll need the factory manual & specialty tools to do the task. I saw a used one on FB for $300 CAD a swap might be cheaper & faster to go boating

85hp force will not start. Fuel not getting to cylinders.

IF... this is the port I'm thinking it is, then that port is blocked WHEN a choke-solenoid/plunger style choke is used. with a fuel-enricher system a hose would hooked to that
  12. The Force power

85hp force will not start. Fuel not getting to cylinders.

When you put the crank in, did make sure that the crank-seals between the cylinders are placed properly before bolting it together? what type of sealer did you use between the two halves? Maybe a picture of you (new) block will shed some info on what version of block you're working.

85hp force will not start. Fuel not getting to cylinders.

You figured wrong, put them back! The older style bock HAS a circulation-system in the shape of a dog-bone. I suggest go over the wiring again, perhaps you set-up the trigger-wires wrong??

    1990 Force L-Drive 90hp -- Can't get it to idle -- losing my mind :D

Sure, change the whole thing or one wire has break when moved in a certain way

    1990 Force L-Drive 90hp -- Can't get it to idle -- losing my mind :D

Intermitted connection on the trigger wires, inspect the trigger-wires/terminals for the one that's not firing

    Ground wires on Force 120

The '95 force motors were already equipped with a Mercury ignition-system. IF in deed you still have CDI boxes that are mounted on a mounting-bracket, then yes make SURE the Coil-packs are grounded with a thick wire to the block. there's a bolt in the bock (with multiple ground wires attached)...

    1990 Force L-Drive 90hp -- Can't get it to idle -- losing my mind :D

No paper gasket on these, but a blue sealer(permatex) that can be compressed is required there Regular red RTV is thick & can not compressed enough to obtain the minimum clearance necessary

    1990 Force L-Drive 90hp -- Can't get it to idle -- losing my mind :D

It could affect the crank-seals not sealing properly, resulting in crank-case pressure to transfer from one to the adjacent. Realize that this is not a 4-stroke with a common bottom-end/crank-case pressure, but each crank section has its own sealed by the crank-seals
