    Identify a hose

Would that be "near the prop"? What does "jay" mean?

    Anti-Rattle solutions

I bought a HitchRider HitchVice and it worked so awesomely well that I bought a second one for my other car. Absolutely NO rattle anytime.

    Hydrofoil

Hydrofoils fall off if they are the "no bolt" clip on type. Hydrofoils break off the AV plate if they are not installed properly (i.e., loose bolts not torqued to spec). To answer your question, no you can't use one because your lower unit is damaged.

Replacement Gas Cap - help needed

I replaced gas caps twice in past years. I simply perused several boat fitting catalogs until I found the same one.

    Hole shot, or up easy?

That fits me as well. I usually go to half throttle and then when on plane I set it to cruise throttle. Never a problem getting on plane. I have performance curves for all of my boats and I run at the optimum fuel usage. Seldom go at WOT because its usually pretty choppy and there is never a...

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

What an awesome trailer. If they were set up properly to fit the boat's bottom, it should have been a breeze to launch and load. Since your new bunks work to your liking, that's all that matters.

    Causes for concern?

The hole below the transom plug could possibly indicate a rotten transom. The cracked bellows needs to be repaired.....NOW. The boat would likely sink. Fix it before you launch it.

    Additional bilge compartment?

Even if you do all the work yourself, the cost will be in the thousands, and likely more than the boat is worth. Consider that before you proceed.

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

Some people want an I/O. Some want an OB. The SeaDrive was an attempt to satisfy both camps. It was a novel idea that simply didn't catch on. Partly because few boat manufacturers offered them.

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

The Rotax engines on SeaDoo PWCs are 4-stroke and they are bulletproof. Can't understand why they stuck with 2-stroke now.

    Bow mount fuel tank. Balance?

The 30 mod may make you go faster, but won't impact your problem. My current $18,000 150 Merc went thru her maiden voyage with awesome stellar results. (needed a benchmark) Before ever splashing her the second time I added an Enertia and drilled all the holes for a Doel. Now even awesomer...

    Easiest to crank manual winch

Funny thing, I just retired after 50 years of working. My issues are arthritis, so I can sympathize. I didn't buy a boat to save money. I DID buy several electrics to save my body so I can hopefully have many more years out in the water. That's MY justification. (some of the 11 mandates for...

    Towing and Cockpit cover concerns?

Trailerable Boat "Covers" need to have straps. The best are also Vac-U-Hold type, where rear facing vents help pull the cover tight. The OP is not talking about a FULL "cover", he is asking about a snapped in toneau cockpit over, or a bow cover. In this case trailering should be no problem.

Adding trim tabs, positioning, transducer placement, etc.

The configuration of your transom is not ideally suited for trim tabs. Besides, do you really want to relocate things that currently work well, and then drill many more holes in the transom? Your first idea was the best one. Except, skip the SE Sport 300 and install a DoelFin instead. If it...

Trailer questions for vintage Glastron Tri-hull

If you look at the position of the aft rollers, its quite obvious that trailer was set up properly for the hull. The pictures do not show the tongue, but obviously it must be long enough to fit the towcar. If the OP's boat were positioned correctly on the rollers, there would be no room left...

    Bow mount fuel tank. Balance?

A bow tank is fine, but don't add more weight. Just move around what you already need. I had a 14' Starcraft with a 25 Yami. Due to the layout (deluxe model, wood deck, etc) it was not practical to move anything. I added a DoelFin and that was the cat's meow. Awesome performance, low cost...

    New to iboats hello..

I'm 72 and the Evinrude Big Twin on my Lyman was built when I was only 3 years old as well. My first OB was a '68 40 hp Lark. Similar to yours but with electric shifting.

What type/size of boat to get for the St. Lawerence river?

We have been plying the waters of the St. Lawrence since 1977. Many years we used the 14' Sea Nymph in my signature, with 2 adults and 2 pre-teens aboard. Graduated to a 16' tinny and then a 15' Boston Whaler Center Console. Used a jetski on and off in between. IMHO, these are fairly calm...

    Easiest to crank manual winch

The last time I cranked a winch on a reasonably sized boat was 1984. I must not be one of those "many people". Have had several electrics, currently have 2 on current boats. Every single one I have had has been a Powerwinch Brand. My last boat had one on for 35 years and it never wore out or...
