    Power/towing question

What I read is that everything was OK except when you tried the tube. If it were gas or a plug, it would have bogged down all the time. Same kids?, Same tube?

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

I also get refreshed when handling my jetski, but then again its usually 80 degree weather and I'm wet already. Then again, it's only 10' long and there are limited options. OTOH, when retrieving my fishing boat in early November up here in the north having to use hip boots would be a hassle.

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

I realize everybody has their own way and like that way, and more power to them. But getting wet feet would be a deal breaker for me.

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

Do you mean that you are walking in water up to your knees?

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

My current boat sits on a Karavan trailer. A bunk trailer came with the boat. I paid extra to have the bunks removed and replaced with 4 Karavan roller assemblies. Height was an issue since the windshield needed to clear the garage door opening. I made careful measurements. Bunks or...

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

Way back when, I believe EZLoader was one of the first to make all roller trailers. If you look up the old specs, they were designed to carry 125# per roller. They got copied and some of the competitors reduced the number of rollers to offer a lower price. THAT's what did it....dents in...

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

50+ years of owning a boat. EVERY bunk trailer I ever owned was converted to rollers before even launching the boat. Maybe you need to explain the problems. Sounds like you have either a maintenance or setup problem.

Moller and other compliant ventless portable tank

My Whaler has 2 of these tanks as oem equipment. One works perfectly, the other leaks as you state. I have adjusted the hex fitting, looser and tighter and it leaks either way if the temp gets hot. Sorry, I can't help, but I anxiously await other responses. Obviously, if one works OK, there...

Centering boat on trailer (solo) without trailer guides? or DIY guide advice

For keel rollers, only buy the brackets that mount on the SIDE of the crossmembers using U-bolts. These are adjustable, plus no drilling needed. I buy the brackets by themselves, then add poly rollers that are self centering. Your link is not for side guides. The ones you need are...

    Painting a boat trailer

Wire brush the rust. No need to go overboard. Paint it with Rustoleum Rust Reformer. Then prime with Rustoleum fish oil primer. Then topcoat with Rustoleum enamel. I did that in 1986 and the trailer is rust free to this day, even with outdoor storage.

Centering boat on trailer (solo) without trailer guides? or DIY guide advice

IMHO, dealers today don't know crap about anything boating other than charging you big bucks for fixing things with their computer. Setting up a trailer is lost art. Back 54 years ago when I got my first boat I went to the library and learned a lot (remember those old smelly buildings with...

Throttle Cable Adjustment 2000 Johnson 90

Disconnected the cable. Run the throttle on the engine manually to see the full movement. Then, adjust the cable setting to meet that travel. If the travel of the lever will meet the requirement, than all you need to do is adjust the cable position on the motor to go enough both ways.

Looking for a owner manual Tahoe Q4 2006

The only boat manuals ever printed are for upscale boats. Unlikely Tahoe ever printed any specific manuals. Google the engine manual.

    Manual?

They probably didn't make one way back then, but now trying to get anything for an old 23 year old boat is probably useless.

    Dumb-dumbs at the Dock . . .

The rules at my launch ramp are clearly printed on a big sign. Boats with trailer have the right of way. No swimming, etc. No car parking in the long spaces for boats with trailers. PERMIT REQUIRED. My issue is not with kids, but with idiots throwing sticks to their dogs. I simply pull...

Can anyone help with identifying trailer?

That works if your state will allow it. In my case I actually DID build a trailer and you wouldn't believe the hoops I had to jump thru. In the end the hassle and extra taxes weren't worth it.

Converting from vertical 2x4 to horizontal 2x6 bunks

The longitudinal "battens" were 1x3", and yes there were 4 of them on the bottom. Additionally, there was a 1x4" keelson running down the center. The chine logs were 2x3". Of course, all of these are located INSIDE the boat, so they only impact structural integrity, not trailer-ability or...

Converting from vertical 2x4 to horizontal 2x6 bunks

My very first homemade boat was a 16' V-hull with an 80" beam. It ran with a 60 HP 2-stroke. The hull was 3/8" marine plywood. After a few years I pulled the motor and slid her off the trailer to repaint the bottom. Not a sign of any dents or damage. Oh, that trailer had no carpeted wooden...

Converting from vertical 2x4 to horizontal 2x6 bunks

I suggest you put a pair of vertical roller style side guides on the back of the trailer. Otherwise it will be hard to center the boat when you retrieve it. https://www.iboats.com/shop/tie-down-engineering-boat-loading-roller-guides.html

Can anyone help with identifying trailer?

My guess is that its a Holsclaw. The library link above has old catalog pics. Find the one that matches your size and there you have a model number. The plate would be the serial number. IMHO, one of the best trailers ever made, but long out of business.
