    The Yamaha motor model number tells weather the shaft is long or short, maybe Johnson also does the same.

    I agree with the above posts. One other thing to be concerned about is your fuel tank. When E10 was introduced many people had to replace their fiberglass tanks. If I remember correctly the alcohol had a bad reaction to the resins in the fiberglass and turned it into mush.

    You will need a large array to charge your batteries. Also you'll most lily not be able to have the panels at the optimal angle.

    What boscoe99 said. Is it 2 or 4 stroke? How long does it run before the alarm sound? Does the motor go into limp mode? Hows the water flow from the pisser?

    Visually check and ohm out your cables. Clean and tighten cable connections. Measure voltages at the key switch.

    I feel like an idiot for having to ask this question, but never seen this before....

    My tank has two pickups, one for main the other for reserve. The reserve pickup tube is several inches longer to reach the last few gallons of gas. Could the plate with screws around it be the sender unit?

    Wire the radio to it's own hot circuit thru a fuse. Don't mess with the alarm wiring.
