    Welcome What size prop depends on what boat the motor was installed on. Most would never have use a 25 pitch, would be closer to 19 to 21. If you know what your WOT RPM and speed is, we could come up with a better guess

    Sounds like you pump is fine Don't have a VP manual, but Merc manual list one additional test. It connects the two lines together with gauge. Run in either direction and pressure should not exceed 13Bar (200 psi)

    Welcome Might be the key switch. You should get 12V on the coil when cranking and 8V with key ON. Need to see if the points are opening and closing.

    ok, then it may be low on compression. A motor that has low compression will run good similar to a Reman, but when put under load it shows it self. A motor should be close to 150 psi per cylinder. As compression gets lower so does the HP. The same motor with 100 psi will start and run fine...

    That depends on the health of the motor and the weight of the boat. Not knowing if the motor is new Reman or old one removed from another boat can change expectations. If it's a Reman then compression is good, but if it is one from another boat, then it may be worn out.
