    They are platinum AD. Minimum requirement. My earlier post just suggesting to make sure it’s at least them. Unfortunately I’ve known a few of these to have some idiot throw the normal carb plugs in these, like the br6. Just don’t work.

    Hi ! 😂. Just for the record…I think they look great and I’m all for prop development and new technologies. My only wish, is for it to be tested and compared to another top 3 blade prop that’s of the correct pitch for the engine and boat. As of yet…we are far from such a thing. All tests so far...

You’d think that if you’re getting that performance and able to carry a few onboard too..it would seem to be extremely low rpm you’re seeing now…for an engine that likes to be about...

    Might not be your issue, but I know for sure, they run crappy Witt normal plugs and not too much better with platinum. Manual calls for minimum platinum and prefer iridium. Ngk 5599’s from memory. Really expensive

    Did they put the proper plugs in it. These don’t take or run well with normal plugs. Need iridium in them.

    What engine is this ? Only engine I know that can pull those rpms is a 115 pro xs 2.1l. Might be one or two others perhaps. Unless it’s a built thing.

    It definitely causes issues down the throttle body, then left unused. 100% on that. Leaves a sticky coating over everything between there and the cylinders. That’s why they changed the instructions in the manual for the mpi. Efi tbi might manage to get away with it. But not engines with a fuel...

    Did you read the full post ? If it’s inducted through the throttle body, it sure does. Mercruiser actually changed the manual for the mpi. Sensors and all sorts in these things, these days.

    Oil Change question

    You’ve had at least a litre and a half (more likely 2 litres) too much in that engine. I’d suggest that it’s been pouring unburnt fuel down into the sump and old oil will be smelling strongly of it too. That’s if it had the right amount of oil put in it previously or there is no sign of water in it.

    If you can prove that put oil down it…you’re onto a winner. The manual doesn’t say to do this at all these days.

    Don’t know anything about the Chrysler. But I know that an 85hp merc will be a very old engine for sure. I know enough about the Chrysler to know that’s also very old too. Not sure on value of these things where you are…but might be a little on the high side for such old engines. Anyway…most...
