    2007 Sportcraft 241 walk around

Opinion of waht Quality wise, middle of the road price point boat. Pro and cons would relate to use and location. I personally wouldn't want a fishing boat with an I/O unless "bobber" fishing. Have to go diving if you get a line tangled in the prop(s) and the doghouse takes up way too much...

Wiring Power for Helix 5 on 2023 Glastron

That is the transducer wiring diagram. Has nothing to do with powering the unit. Red (red) goes to positive (+) Black (blk) goes to ground (-) I personally wouldn't power the unit off a switched source of power, but that's just me.

    Water separator

Filter/separators are gravity driven devices designed to operate on the suction side of a pump. Since the primer bulb is a simple pump, the filter goes on the suction side (before) the primer bulb. FWIiW: Pumping media into the filter is a good way to clear the water out of them… right into...

Has anyone had any experience with Attwood Integrated Fuel Demand Valve

It’s basically a one way valve to prevent pressured fuel tank from pressuring the vacuum (pump) side of the fuel delivery system. No experience with them but common sense would say either the valve is sticking or the fuel pump isn’t pulling enough vacuum to open the check valve to allow fuel to...

Bow Thruster with terminal fuse blown

Yes…..ACR (automatic charge relay) is a voltage activated relay. When the ACR active, current is free to flow in either direction. If the bow thruster battery has the higher potential of the two, it will charge the starting battery and vice versa. In effect, you’ve in effect tied the two...

Where is the wiring for the start isolation feature? Without it, your drawing from both batteries this the blown fuse

    Question about battery post connections

On second thought, don't do it. The main point of contact is between the "pad" of battery terminal and the lug on the battery cable. Putting a nut or flat washer in between the pad and the cable increase resistance significantly, causing heat

    Question about battery post connections

Yes, Ny-loc are recommended as they are vibration resistant unlike wing nuts. The contact is between the lower side of the copper lug and the top of the battery post. The nut simply holds the lug in place

Do you use non ethanol gas ?

I have no need for E0. My outboard owner's manual recommends 87 octane, unleaded fuel https://www.apba.org/sites/all/files/documents/Ethanol2.pdf

    Question about battery post connections

No reason why not.....but why are you stripping them? Are you using ny-loc nuts as recommended? Doesn't take much torque at all to tighten

    Flush mount plotter on Sylvan

I was going to flush mount my chart plotter but wasn’t thrilled that I couldn’t remove it when leaving the boat unattended. Ended up yoke mounting it in the “glove box” with a lockable smoke glass door to keep honest people honest. Out of site, out of mind.

Need prop help with new boat

New to you boat? Something is wrong. What you describe is the typical classic symptoms of a under propped boat. Since that is the factory recommended prop size. One can only assume that the prop is damaged, worn out or has cavitation or venting issues for one reason or another

    Boat Ramp Etiquette

Where I boat, you’re not going to find any smoking hot wives, or girl friends for that matter, wearing bikinis at the boat ramp. They’re all at the pool bar at the yacht club….lol

    What is this port?

That is a scupper valve. Never seen them used in critical applications. Normally used on splash well and cockpit drains. As noted above, a closer inspection is warranted

    Cannot Get Dust Cap On!!!

At this point I’ve removed and installed 100 or so caps (4 x25 yrs) on my tandem trailer and have only bent 2-3 and lost two. The caps are “interference” fits that take some finesse, to install. If you find yourself smashing the ***** out of them your doing something wrong or the part is out...
