    I belive everything but intake would fit Incl carb and delco est exhaust coupler flywheel etc You might run into pulley alignment issues but nothing that would stop me from doing it.

    If you disconnect throttle cable you can hand work the throttle at the engine. when you say dripping into carb do you mean off the venturi boosters or overflowing the bowl? If bowl level is too high and overflowing either float/needle and seat is non functional or fuel pressure is too high

    My purple and white wire ends near the shift plate by starboard exhaust elbow. There is a plug in the end of it I just use a jumper Wire with alligator clips one end in the wire the other end on a good engine ground

    merc never made any reverse rotation engines for sterndrives your 2005 would be a standard rotation engine, the drive will be counter rotating
