    Fouled Crankcase.-

I have not “decarbed” in years. Easier to prevent carbon build up running an oil with an carbon additive (XD50) or simply add Ring Free to the fuel at each fill up per instructions on the label.

Will be interesting to see how well the running gear held up after sitting in saltwater for how knows long w/o maintenance.

What certification number are they using? Have not seen a bottle/jug of oil w/o a certification number stamped somewhere on the container.

    Speedometer Connected to GPS Device?

Unless you boat on a river or tidal water Drifting with current at 4 kts. = 0 mph on a pitot tube Head into the current at 4 kts. = 9.2 mph on pitot tube Makes it rough when you want/need an accuracy of +/- 0.5 mph or less

    deer meat question

Not a hunter but BIL is into it. Most everything other than tenderloins goes to the local meat processor to make bologna. What doesn't go to the processor is turned into jerky. He has the process down to a science. Makes his own seasonings, etc. I'm not a real fan of bologna but always game...

New Engine Replacement - Engine Died and Hydro locked after 5 hrs!?

Something isn’t right. At that rate your looking for a lake, not moisture. The advertised weight of an even #5200 is suspicious. Smallest motor to largest motor with no weight difference? I would call the factory to confirm the weight of your particular boat as configured before I start...

    What gauge clear marine vinyl?

Boy has it gone up….I paid $17 a can delivered to the house a couple of years ago. The good thing is that it doesn’t take much. A can should last you a couple of years.

Changing Elec motor on power trailer dolly? (from 500W to 800W), not sure what to look for on Aliba etc

Shows up as $ 775 to me. This thing handles a #6,000 load up to a 7 degree incline. Can’t see a 16’ boat weighing anywhere near that Unless it’s a gear motor you will have to address the gearbox as well.

    What gauge clear marine vinyl?

I’ve had both by the same OEM No difference other than the front curtain was 30 mils as well on the Bimini. Give Plexus a try before tearing into them with a buffer. Does a great job at cleaning and protection

Faulty fuel sender or fuel gauge?

Classic symptoms of a bad or failing connection and or wire. Gauges are rarely the issue. Pull the sender, (4” dia with cap) test and replace required. Make sure to install a new gasket. Generic parts…..suggest you replace with aReed type sensor. Much more stabile readings. Gas isn’t your...

Evinrude Etec 2012 150HP motor power tilt and trim stuck in down position

The pin is stainless. I used PB Blaster and the wire brush on a bench grinder. Followed up with 400 grit sand paper For the holes, I sprayed PBB in the holes then took a pipe cleaning brush to them until they shined Triple guard is a very sticky, waterproof grease. Yamaha “blue” grease is the...

Do you park your vehicle straight into your garage or back in?

From a safety stand point, backing a vehicle out of a parking space has the highest probability of an accident. Fleet vehicles are backed in simply to minimize the risk. Code (local) dictates an attached garage be sheeted with fire proof drywall and inside doors are fire proof. Don’t know...
