The 25 yro fuel pump is your issue. The oil side of the pump is pretty infallible. It’s the fuel side that fails.

1989 Johnson VRO - Solid Alarm - Overload?

The issues are related. Something happened that introduced a power surge into the system when you switched to battery two. The electronics are simple enough but you need a detailed schematic or a OEM manual to work through things. The constant alarm is a know failure mode of the horn Two or...

1989 Johnson VRO - Solid Alarm - Overload?

Well that tell us there is control circuit in there. Violet is power and tan is control. Grounding tan should cause an alarm but not sure how you test the logic.

    NEW TIRES!

Hard to go wrong with Michelin. Replaced the OE Wranglers on the pickup at 30k miles with Michelin Defender LTX M/S. Just put a set of 10 ply, E-rated, Carlisle Radial Trail HD of the same size on the horse trailer. We’ll see how they hold up

    Best finance options

By definition an asset has value. You could sell the asset for money if you had too. A liability has no intrinsic value. Worth nothing, a debt or loan. How do you depreciate something with no value? The value may be less than the loan, thus the “depreciating asset” moniker, but none the less...

    Best finance options

It takes money to make money. Nobody in their right mind would pull money out of investment account(s) to buy a depreciating asset when you can barrow money for less than your making in investments. Case in point….my primary investment account averaged 8% over the past 10 years. Currently up...

1989 Johnson VRO - Solid Alarm - Overload?

Your bouncing back and forth between problems. Replace the ignition switch and go from there. Did you have a “ regulation” issue prior to rewiring the batteries? Did you have the alarm prior to rewiring the batteries? Alarms are triggered through ground. Start disconnecting alarm inputs one...

So any info on living in Brazil?

Brazil is a country of haves and have nothing. The houses are gated for a reason We had an office in Sao Paulo for a number of years. Spent a lot of time in Ipatinga and Santos (below) as well. First time I had seen families (Squatters) living under "tin houses" right next to a high rise...

Evinrude 130HP switching from 3 blade to 4 blade

Every boat is different therefore your results may vary. I went from a four to a three blade and all aspects of my performance improved. Adding friction reduces efficiency. I gained 10% going back to a 3 blade A hulls planing speed is a function of hull geometry. I have yet to see verifiable...

https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=3N1xrYyYWS4em21fhxoTs9 The short answer is no…. When mounting a radar, the minimum safe height is a primary consideration to keep the crew and passengers aboard the boat safe. The radar's horizontal beamwidth should be above head height. The minimum...

Should you buy 20 year old boat to fix up or 10 year old boat?

First thing I do is to remove deck plates to throughly inspect the bilge, fuel tank and storage compartments. If the bilge and compartments are not clean, top of the fuel tank isn’t dry or I smell mildew or rotten wood in any compartment, I go no further and walk away.
