    I’d go out and get some numbers written down with what you have now. Gps and as close as you can rpm too. See what’s happening. Decide what you want most too. Then go get a shot of a prop or two from a good dealer. Abs stay away from the edges when you test them. Haha.

    I’d also maybe suggest that cruising at 40 mph might not be considered cruising. You’ll drink the fuel and the engine will be getting a constant hammering, I’d think. More than that...any sort of chop...and it just ain’t nice.

    You’ll lose top end with most 4 blades, pitch for pitch. In general at least. Exceptions would be rev4 and bravo props perhaps. They will put rum most 3 blade modest props. And come close to the decent 3 blade props usually. Like all props though. Can be a hit or a miss. Always best to try them...

    Good luck. If it’s beeping on dash wot..you’ll be on the limiter at around 5100/5150ish. Good idea to get the VVM. Tells you exactly where you’re at.

    Thought there might be. Check it’s not corroded or compromised. It can draw air and lose its prime on the pump.

    No way that’s right or verified as right. That engine won’t physically let you rev to more than around 5100-5150, then the limiter kicks in. 100%. Hope that helps. Maybe have another look at the tachometer or verify it with the vessel view mobile device. Great wee thing for propping your mpi.

    Hi. can be a guessing game if using dash tacho and speedo, to be fair. But what I can almost certainly assume and tell you is. your drive as stamped is a 1.5. They came later in 1.47. you won’t be able to turn a 19” well at all on that set up. So anything that size is out. likely a 17” would...

    I’d also check if you have a power steering oil cooler on the suction side of the water pump. Known this to draw air and have a similar result.

    Ngk 5599 usually. Just check though. Not cheap. But no doubt they are the right plugs. Don’t settle for platinum ones.

    Hi. about the spark plug gap. Good idea to remember that this engine absolutely needs the iridium plugs and they don’t get gapped. but more crucial...without doubt, you are seeing what 99% of mpi owners do after winter or storage...the infamous trademark mpi Diz cap issue.

    Do you know the OEM Prop size for a 05 Bayliner 265 with 5.0NA 220hp Carb engine.

    Guessing game usually, but I’d say around a 17” wouldn’t be far off. but what I do know, is that a couple of similar boats I know of, run a big 16x16 black max well, apparently. Never actually been on them running wot to see if it’s suited...but the owners seem happy. One is a ‘96 2655 with 5.0...

    leaking bow hatch window

    Hi. I spent ages trying to seal a leak on this. Kept leaking after sealant and all sorts. Amazingly what ended up resolving the issue was putting Vaseline petroleum jelly on the rubber seal. Never leaked since.

    I’d be very careful adding gas into an mpi. Your almost making a bomb there.
