Anyone know how to open/repair this gauge?

It seems like you use a lot of AI garbage in your posts. It is obvious to anyone who read the original post that your suggestion is way off base. What’s up with that?

Anyone know how to open/repair this gauge?

That is an air, core needle movement. I just repaired the one in my multifunction gauge which swings the tachometer needle. I was able to find an inexpensive gauge on that auction site, which had a diesel tachometer in the multifunction gauge and just transferred the air, core meter movement to...

Prop is making thumping / clicking noises when hand rotated (video)

The prop didn’t stop. The boat did. Big difference. Has nothing to do with waves. Walls and other hard underwater obstacles are different story. If anything that would’ve affected your outdrive like that had happened, your prop would be mangled.

    Finally, a Funnel Solution!

And here I’ve been using a coffee can and paper towels for over 40 years. All along, I could’ve bought a 3-D printer for the sole purpose of printing things out that solve problems that I never knew I had. 😆

    Cicada

I concur. I have also used a vacuum pump instead of pressure. Seems to work equally well, but vacuum pump oil is more expensive than air pressure.

    LOWER END OIL CHANGE

First bought a hammer impact driver from Sears in the early 80s to remove the side covers on my motorcycle. Never even crossed my mind to tighten those screws back up with the same tool. And I was even more of a moron in my youth than I am today. Just sayin’

yamaha 3.0 l4 blew head gasket help!

You can make that one too. One can find some gasket making sheets at most auto parts stores. I have made riser gaskets out of the thicker gray colored gasket material. Slather that thing with some Permatex #2 and it won't leak.

    Cobalt 226…Adding underwater exhaust

Your transom assembly has a block off plate where a Y pipe would connect. You would have to remove the engine to get to it. Then install a Y pipe. I imagine your existing manifolds are probably the same as what would come with a boat with underwater exhaust. Post some pictures and we will be...

How would a compromised bellows sink the boat?

That seal was easy to inspect and see when it needed replacement. And they are so thick and tough (at least the original ones) that it takes a bunch to get compromised. Bought my stringer boat from original owner in ‘95. Was the original seal from ‘78. I replaced it just because and kept it as a...

2005 4.3 liter Mercruiser ignition trouble

I just happened to think, if the coil has a ballast resistor in line with the positive feed, then you could very likely get low voltage on the coil positive lead. So the best thing to do would be like others said and check how much voltage you’re getting at the purple wire on the engine...

2005 4.3 liter Mercruiser ignition trouble

Total system voltage will of course be lower while cranking. This is due to the draw from the starter. I would think it would be more than 9 V if your batteries are in good shape if you get 9 V on the purple wire at the switch, but only 4 V on the coil positive then your problem for sure is in...

Does my GL-5 75W90 need to be official?

I guess because I don’t like throwing money away needlessly and the fact that since the lube was fresh when it was discovered that the prop shaft seals went bad after the first run this has had in years, the smart move would be not to contribute to needlessly lining the pockets of the VP execs...
