    Hydraulic trailer brake system overhaul

    1. Not necessarily. Drum brakes don’t last long in salt. Disc brakes for salt 2. I have no problems with them 3. No 4. Easy enough, but don’t last long in salt 5. With the proper jack

    Newby to boating

Waves are not the problem in the ocean......it’s the tide. This is the root in and out of the ocean in my neck of the woods. Underpowered, low freeboard boats don’t stand a chance

How much water pressure do you have at idle? I would suggest new water pumps before you do anything

    1973 ISLANDER REFIT

The thermal expansion of starboard is outrageous. Had to slot my kick rails almost 3/8” to keep them from bowing. Can’t imagine how you would compensate for that amount of movement with a transom

    NM2K connector type

Maretron uses metal screw caps. Can’t find any claim of shielding capabilities in their documentation. Only ruggedness Unless you are making and breaking the cables on a regular basis, plastic connectors will suffice

Fluorocarbon line is less pliable than other lines.

All but one of my spinners are loaded with braid for just that reason. The only spinner with mono is my “Spanish” rod which is loaded with #15 Tritanium Plus which is a copolymer line. Very supple. Well behaved on a spinner.

94 johnson 200 hp venom inconsistent spark

Something 27 years old isn't "new" from a materials standpoint. UV and ozone have certainly taken their toll on every bit of rubber, (encapsulations, hoses, wiring,) in the motor. The wiring may get by, but certainly all the hoses need changed. Any encapsulated components (i.e. coils, stator...

    NM2K connector type

What is a NM2K plug? If you mean a NMEA 2000, the NMEA specification requires the use of shielded cables. Anything other is non-compliant to the standard. If someone is marketing "shielded" cables as a better alternative, you're being taken for a ride.

    Auto pilot

A couple of manufacturers make cable AP. Given all the slope in cable systems, can't see how that would work all that well for trolling. Even the cheaper hydraulic units will not hold course at trolling speed worth a darn in any type of slop or wind.

    Fueld sender charred up

Nothing you can do to stop condensation. Your going to get condensation in the Spring and Fall. Not much you can really do except keep the access cover sealed up, if you have one, and provided good air flow to the area if possible. If I store my boat for more than a week, I pull a couple of...

    Fueld sender charred up

Not “charred”...it’s the dried up remains of multi-generations of mold that grew on top of the tank from moisture. See this all the time in bilges

    Fuel gauge issues

Standard wire colors are not all that “standard”. After 40 years in electronics manufacturing, I can tell you that making assumptions, especially with wire colors, is a fool errand. Never assume, verify If the manufacturer of the sensors says pink is ground, pink is ground. In your case, l...

    Adding a kicker motor

Something to think about if you boat out front...... Most kicker brackets are not designed to take the beating you get in the ocean. Most everyone I know has horror stories about their kicker (or bracket) prior to getting rid of them. A kicker isn't going to cut it when push comes to shove. If...
