    Moving the filter

My bad.....considering most motor manufacturers recommend the use of a 10 micron or better fuel filter, a rock and stick collector isn't the first thing that comes to mind when someone says "fuel filter"

    Perko dual battery switch

Setting the switch to #2 simply connects the starter to the "house" (second) battery. Battery #2 is dead or not wired correctly to the switch

    Merc prop selector

If you have concerns go with the Merc Flo-Torq SSR FWIW: The Enteria prop rattled horribly when trolling. Ended of changing out the Merc Flo-Torq II (Delrin) for a Rubex RBX hub (rubber) to eliminate the Noise

    CDI High Speed Failure

Playing Frankenstein with a charging systems is risky. Not much tolerance for miss matched components.

    Stainless Prop Film

Here is a test for you...... Remove the positive battery cable from the battery. Test for continuity between the positive battery cable and the prop. Should be an open circuit. Next, test for continuity between the prop and the negative battery terminal. Once confirmed, switch your meter over...

Multi Function gauge for 2004 Yamaha F150

Displays are no longer proprietary to a particular motor or brand. You will need a gateway to covert to NMEA2000, but once done, there are any number of multi-function displays on the market that will work.

Did a little saltwater fishing in SC last week.

The trick is live bait..... Keep dead bait to chunk for sharks at night Live line rig....6/0 Gami circle hook and a #50 mono leader. Typically no weight, but some could be added if the fish are deep. Leave reel in free spool. Doesn't take long if there are fish around. Live shrimp or mullet...

    Wash Down Pump

PSI I have 4.0 @ 60 psi and it does a great job. Should mention, the coiled hose supplied with these units sucks. Too small. Replaced mine with a 5/8" sanitary hose. World of difference

Kodiak Anchor - Made by SouthCoast Marine . . .???

Cold worked (tempered) when bent. Cold worked (tempered) when straightened. Could straighten and anneal to like new strength, but wouldn't be cost effective unless you do the work yourself

Easier time putting on the trailer

Ever tried getting a #5,200 boat on or off a trailer by yourself? No comparison between the two if you have weight to deal with. My previous trailer had 32 rollers ($$$), 12 articulations to maintain (pain) and a #4,200 electric winch to get the boat on the trailer. Had to use the winch to...

    1994 v6 problem

Not saying this is your problem, but I've had many coils test OK yet are compromised. The insulation breaks down over time. If I see any cracks whatsoever in the epoxy it gets replaced.

    axle repair sleeve question

Loctite is a bear to remove. They used to recommend a non-hardening sealer under them to prevent moisture from getting under them. I've used # 2 permatex with good results in the past

    1997 johnson 150 ocean runner

Three bad fuel pumps isn't coincidence. Time to start at the beginning. Are you 100% sure of the work you did to the carbs? Floats set to the right height? Fuel lines to the carbs get mixed up? Throughly inspect every component in the fuel delivery system from tank to carbs. Make sure...
