How to Switch to Antifreeze Cooled Engine

I recently tried to clean the cooling jackets on my 65 Pontiac chasing some over heating issues. This was an engine that was rebuilt in early 90s (block hot tanked) has mostly sat over the years. I ran this product through it twice...

Holley Dual Feed Fuel Rail/Log Question

I would think putting a marine fuel line assy like this in between the T and the fuel pump to offer some flex would help- https://www.michiganmotorz.com/fuel-line-hose-3-8-fuel-pump-to-carburetor-25-length my OEM merc line between the fuel pump and carb was like this but had more hard pipe than...

    Alpha 1 gen 1 with v8

Were you able to run it with old engine and see what the performance was? Was it getting the engine to recommended WOT rpm range? Without a basis point of what RPM range at WOT its hard to say, as long as the 19" is in good shape I would trial that then make an educated decision. Depending...

    Inboard replacing

Yeah seems you would be better off with a 5.7 my boat is a 2004 sea ray 200 sport. had 4 engine options from a 4.3/190 hp carb up to a 5.0 mpi (interestingly with a 1.62 drive ratio). i bought it with a known cracked 4.3 carbed engine, i swapped in a 5.0 thinking a 5.7 would be too much...

    Divorced choke

i think you do If you take the choke coil out. If you can leave it in place probably not. Im just not sure if you can put the electric choke housing on it if you leave the old choke stove in place.

    Volvo penta spark plugs

Yep - these iridium and platinum are great in cars where you have a 120k change interval but makes less cost effective if you change them frequently.

2004 Volvo Penta 3.0 manifold and riser replacement

Yeah 3.0 s are tough, just not powerful. For the amount of time the 3.0 in my old boat spent above 4 k rpm I’m surprised it lasted 25 years. Used to beat the snot out of it tubing and skiing with the kids. Id put like $60 bucks of gas in it go all weekend…

    Gimbal Bearing Stiff

If the grease is really cold it will be stiff. Assuming you only drove it in aganst the outer race you should be fine, likely just a lot of grease. From what i understand this is why OEMs have gone to lubed for life bearings , people can over grease them , with too much grease they get covered...

    Wakeboard installation

That was three years and many beers ago so dont recall if there was a nylon washer. If there was i used it, only eliminated the inside rubber washer as screw was too short and with plywood really doesn’t matter. i assume the nylon was to allow mount and rubber washer to move independently of...

    Removal / Fitting Duoprop

i ass/u/me they are lock nuts with a nylon insert. the US amazon price for that tool the guy mentions is $32, but it looks milk toast, like it would break if the prop has been on for more than three months so think you did ok with your scrounging. How many beers did that pipe cost you ?

    Wakeboard installation

Your mounting positions are fine assuming for the rear you meant 3 or 4 inches above the rub rail. These are standard locations. Only thing i can tell you is to look through vendors website photo galleries for your boat. What i found is the same tower is sold under several different brands. I...

Mercruiser 3.7 (470) wont turn all the way

There's two diaphragms the overflow is in between them. If it bolts together vs crimped then yes in theory you can rebuild it or send it to a company to rebuild. Issue would be if you can ID what pump it is and also find a rebuild for what now is at least 30 years old....which is why replacing...
